Freezes windows 8.1
Hi, does anyone else has a problem running this game in windows 8.1?
When I do, the game freezes and doesn't respond

I cannot get Left 4 Dead 2 running on Windows 8. It crashes the same place, 11 seconds into the game, shortly after the Valve logo screen pops up. It will flicker, the audio will break and then it will kick me to desktop. I have looked through the forums and I tried all the "fixes":

Are you opening from steam or the shortcut on desktop? I heard desktop shortcuts can cause problems.

Try this bro: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638

My game used to crash every single time I tried to launch it, I reinstalled drivers too many times and still got problems, I even got to use the beta drivers and still it crashed, now I can play it without problems.. for now, anyway, this fixed it for me right now. I'm also using w8.1
Hardware specs? The game runs fine on Vista/7/8.1. Doesn't hurt to recheck the integrity of your game files in steam. I usually check mine every month or two even when everything is running ok.

Ok, I'm gonna check in a while. Thank you for your time :)

im running windows 8.1 and it works fine...maybe you need a motherboard update. for example when i watched videos on vlc sometimes the sound would studder i thought it was my tv. i googled my motherboard (i built it i have the model number handy) and sure enough there was a new firmware update for windows 8 to fix audio issues...and it works.

if you didnt build your system if you bought it from lets say dell check there site with your model on the outside of your machine it should say.
hope this helps...ive been there man it sucks.

I've unisntall it all, and now I'm downloading the game, and I also had reset steam. I'll publish here if this worked out if someone else has the same problem.
