A workshop hack?
So yesterday we played VRS and we kept getting instantly shot, mainly headshots, even through walls.

Well the guy admitted to using a workshop addon that allows you to see brightly colored infected through 75% invisible walls (and he posted a direct link to the addon, but I will not post it here)

Is this even OK to be in the workshop? If so, why? Just curious.
Also, why would this be OK to be in the workshop, but addons like "aimbot" are not?

I think most of the veterans here know what workshop addon you're talking about. Its been up for over a year now, and yes, it is essentially cheating. Valve doesn't monitor the workshop as long as there are no lawsuits over copyrighted material, so it looks like that addon isn't going anywhere. There is a reason why players choose to play ProMod, one of them being addons are disabled so as to not give people unfair advantages. No such luck in public versus games. You can technically see through walls without any kind of hacks installed simply by lowering your graphics settings. At some distances, the game will render enemies but not the walls they're hiding behind. There are plenty of legitimate players who will shoot you through walls, but if someone openly admits to using cheats or 'unfair' addons, I would suggest reporting and blocking them.

It's zombis hack pack and any one who uses it is a loser.

There is an addon that allows you to see colors and infected invisible walls, but never aimbot. I try to report this mod, but it seems that nothing happens and good will.

There are Sourcemod plugins that can disable addon mods, but there's nothing you can do on an official server. Note that both authors have VAC bans.
It's funny how steam works, they insta perma ban you for warning devs of some infrigiments on a discussion BUT they absolutely do nothing to cheaters like this.

There will always be modders like this. I have had 2 like this removed. But more seem to pop up.
I gave up reporting them, all reports are ignored now on anything left 4 dead based.

They're now removed from the workshop :)

Interesting. Do the people who dragged it to their addons folder get to keep playing with it?

I believe so.

Wow they actually removed them from workshop!? YAY!
Everyone who had subscribed ( I think like 1,750- something, im not sure) won't be able to use it, however people who saved it to their other folder will....shame..i'm just glad they're removed. I really don't see how people could play like that. I'd get lost so fast not knowing where to go??

it is a bigdeal, he just alerted us for a hack/mod that was considerable giving advantage to players wich is considered cheating. if you think its ok by it you probably used to have the mods on your game too.

The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing.
and we did our part by reporting. the amount of reports they got in a single day might have been enough

Wow, that's awesome that those mods just got removed, there have been quite a few threads and finally progress.
