Is this the new 'base game'?

Hi there,

in a discussion in another thread someone wondered about the name of the game which led me to another thought:

Is this the new Train Simulator 'base game' which will get more DLC? Or is this more like Dovetail Games Flight School like a kick off for the new game.

Because I'd only keep the game if it's gonna be fed with DLC with new Locos and Tracks, such as passenger trains.

I'd love a DTG response to this topic, so please Jay :)

Well, We know for sure there will be much more content as in dlc. As for their naming setup, I'd assume it would go as it is now. Train Sim World: XXXX, For each DLC pack they release. Or maybe something different if it's just a loco pack.

As for your other question, You're right. This is just a "base game" with the first DLC (CSX) included with it.

Of course these are just my opinions on how I understand it to be. But it has been confirmed on their website and by James, that DLC for the base game is already in the works!

I just want to make sure that I buy the new line of Train Simulator, and not just some small release and in 12 months "Train Sim World" will come out which is a separate game from this one.

Don't worry, DTG spent about three-four years on development of this new game. They make their money from selling DLC, so a lot of nice stuff will come.

I'm assuming "Train Sim World" will become the base game / launcher. They probably just released it with the "CSX Heavy Haul" branding as it is the only content which exists at this point...but once more content is available they will just rename the title (Just as they do for the annual TS releases)

When DTG start releasing new routes and locos etc. the game will be renamed to just "Train Sim World".

we are sooo spoiled these days. There is no comparison between the software sold today and what I use to pay for in the 80's, 90's the price has not changed alot...I payed 49.99 for Janes f15 and many other games from Egghead software and later Babbage's then Software etc. I've still got them in the box, F15, Longbow 2, Fleet command. As great as these games were at the time they do not hold a candle to what the developers are giving us these days for the same amount of money. I for one am grateful. I still work 2 jobs like I did back then so I could afford to buy these great toys. I am really looking foreward to this sim, basically for me it is like DCS of Trains. I'm not trolling just saying we should be a little thankful to the developer.

Don't worry! As I said in another thread, Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul and the technology it is built upon is effectively the base platform for all future content and the entry point for what will evolve to become Train Sim World.
