(!) Command Ops 2 DPI scaling issue solved (Win 10)
First, let me say that CO2 is an amazing game. One of the best games I ever played. However it does have a huge issue. On the smaller monitors (read laptops) it tends to have overlapping text, half boxes, etc, which makes the game unplayable.

I fought the war with DPI for few days, and it seems that I finally have resolved the issue.

In your steamapps, CO2 folder find CmdOps exe, right click and in compatibility tab, choose:
Override high DPI scaling behaviour, scaling performed by - System (enhanced).

I am not sure if this was added by Win 10 creator update, but it very well may be :)

The issue should be solved, and you should be able to play the game as it was planned to be done.

Please folks, check, and tell me if it works for you too.

Have fun in the battlefields of late WW2!

That's very interesting - I've been going with a "hacked" exe (using Resource Hacker) to force DPI scaling to work properly, but this could be a good solution at least for those of us using Win10.

Here's some interesting reading too:

There are earlier versions of dpi scaling for Win 8 (and probably 7), too. Slightly different ways of adjusting; same fix. On Win 8, you need to restart after adjusting the dpi scale back to normal. From the OP's remarks, that doesn't seem to be needed for Win 10? (In that case the Windows programmers improved it!)

There's a further issue for motherboard graphic chipsets such as on the Surface Pro 3, but I don't recall the details offhand -- same basic idea, but needs a half-step farther to work right. I've been meaning to post it up someday.

I've been playing a bit with the new Win10 scaling options in Creators Update, and while the scaling is very much improved in regards to scaling and blurriness, there are still problems.

For instance the box that appears when moving dialogs in scaled apps, including CO2, is smaller than the actual dialog, so placement gets a lot more difficult. It looks like a bug or oversight on Microsoft's side, and I doubt most users turn off "Show window contents while moving windows" anyway, on a modern computer it shouldn't really be necessary...

obviously there are still problems, but hopefully the devs will correct those remaining issues soon.

This seems to be working for me! Still testing a few different resloutions and DPI setting in Windows 10 using 4K

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this is incredible. I'm gonna cross post this on the CO2 forums on the LnL site, as this has been a longstanding issue there. Great find!

Setting Window's font size to 100% nor overriding the DPI did anything for me, Windows 10 1440p normally at 125%.

Happy to help. Surprised that dev did not act upon it. Or it did. I did not play the game for a while.

I have 1440p screen and 125% scaling in Win10, this didnt do anything unfortunately, still have some overlays with misplaced fonts etc.
