RiME
Denuvo Anti-Tamper
"I have seen some conversations about our use of Denuvo anti-tamper, and I wanted to take a moment to address it. We have had discussions about Denuvo internally, and one of the key points of all of those discussions have simply been, we want to ensure the best gaming experience for RiME players. RiME is a very personal experience told through both sight and sound. When a game is cracked, it runs the risk of creating issues with both of those items, and we want to do everything we can to preserve this quality in RiME.

We are very committed to this, but also to the simple fact that nothing is infallible. That being said, if RIME is cracked we will release a Denuvo free version of RiME and update existing platforms."

Postmodernism was a mistake.

Then isn't let's plays on youtube the same problem as piracy because they spoil the experience? i don't get what cracking the game ruins... the experience? if you buy the game what does it matter that someone else is playing it without buying it? As a consumer that doesn't affect me nor the experience of the game. I don't get this excuse for Denuvo

I don't understand why they need even use Denuvo when they can use Steam's DRM.
Jehuty May 26, 2017 @ 7:59pm
I'm still not quite sure whether this is some elaborate joke, or if they're actually implying a crack messes with the game's quality.
This is some next-level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

WTF. If a cracked copy harms any players it is people who use said cracked copy. What effects legitimate customers is offensive DRM practices. The PR person who posted that should be sacked along witht the management who approved denuvo.

I'll say it as always piracy are not lost sales, key reselling scams are lost sales, let's plays led to potential lost sales, publisher physical copies scams are lost sales when the stores like GAME have employees keeping limited editions of videogames to resell them on ebay, etc... Bad Ports ( bad optimization) also make lost sales...

How long did it take for his corporate meeting to come up with this? he just ruined his reputation by posting this.

And then he decided to put Denuvo in the game. he clearly has no respect for the customers.

man what a hypocrite! Stick to your own broken logic or shall I say lie and keep the Denuvo in your game after it got cracked. It "ensure the best gaming experience" after all.

Respect us so that we respect you.

None of what he posted in defense of using Denuvo makes any sense at all.

In fact it reads like colorful PR gibberish.

I am really thinking of buying this game but i don't want denuovo allowing devs to shove any second hand crapware to scan my ♥♥♥♥ without me knowing it.

Its like punishing paying customers in the illusion that people who woudn't pay for a game regardless will now actually buy your game... they won't.

While this does sound quite fishy ,please refrain from using "postmodernism" because it sounds cool. It does not.

Yes this is the problem that people don't want to face, Denuvo is not a reputable company they were the ones from Securom and after that fiasco and earning the hate from everyone back then they went into hiding until they came back with a new name and some Sony divison backing: Denuvo, i'm telling you nobody except them and the publishers that work with them now what Denuvo does to the consumers, now it might be nothing or they might be stealing information to later sell it and profit even more, who knows? they are surely not transparent with what they do, nobody knows who they are, who runs the company and if everything backfires, who are you going to blame?
