Ns2 disconnects my wifi?

So i like to update the game list a lot to find a game i want to join. Often times after several refreshes the updates stops working, i call it update as the button says update instead of refresh now, ( didnt work pre patch and post patch) and eventually i found out that my wifi would disconnect whenever the list didnt work. i KNOW its not my wifi's fault because my wifi never ever disconnects me except when i refresh the game list too much in ns2. It is the ONLY time it happens and i want to know am i the only one? and if possible a solution.

Side note i do have malware anti-bytes and it does often say something about ns2 and i tried to add ns2 to the ignore list.

If you have a Thomson router (often rebranded / badged) they're known to be flaky...

Also, try changing the MaxPing in your Steam settings to 500 - I used to have a router that would keel over if there was a lot of certain types of traffic :-}

The server list "update" button is just on a timer, so it'll change back to "update" after about 4 seconds - just leave it going after pressing it once :-}

There seems to be an issue where the server data is taking forever to update, but I suspect this has to be something Steam is doing, as they hold all the server data.

NS2 does not disconnect wifi, but if your router can't cope with the traffic, that might just do it :-}

In steam try : view > settings > In-Game > lower max pings / min to 1500. This might help.
