It sounds to me that the game is trying to set a resolution that your monitor does not support.

Try this:

Press the Windows Key+R, then type %appdata%.

Find the folder called "Natural Selection 2" and open it.

Delete the file called "system_options.xml".

Then try to run the game again, if you still get the error you could try this instead:

Open the file "system_options.xml" in Wordpad.

Where it says "x-resolution" and "y-resolution", make sure it's set at a resolution your monitor supports.

i set settings to low
