Is Killing Hive/Station at start bad sportmanship?

If you rush the other team at the start and kill their commander when there are only a few players is this considered bad sportmanship or should they be prepared for it from start?

It's part of the game, I don't think it's cheap at all. I've seen marines rush successfully as well as aliens. Fair game! Always be ready for a rush!

It depends on how few. Rushing a 3v2 is pretty retarded, but at the same time, it is more of an issue with game design to begin with: Why are you allowed to start a game with only 3 players on a side? Regardless of rushing though, low player-count start just end in huge alien advantage because khamm can just go all over the map.

Although I agree with the people above, nobody starts up NS2 to only play in the base rushes in the beginning. Is it fair: Yes. Is it good sportsmanship: No.

Fair: yes. good sportsmanship? sportsmanship has little to do with it - they should be prepared for ANYTHING.

How do you prepare a game that starts you 3v3? Hump the comm chair while khamm spreads throughout the entire map and then jump out of the chair? Or push out and leave your comm to fend 1v3?

They should drop some free mines for the marines so they can stop the early wave more easily.

I think in addition to having a commander on both teams to start the match the option to only start the match when both teams have a set amount of players should be added. But that option should be up to the server admin.
