I have an i5 4670K, 8 GB DDR3 and a GTX 560 and I run the game at 1680 x 1050
Also play alien too, You can learn only part of the map playing marine. Many new people seem to stack marines. It's easier to kill aliens when you know their game and movement first hand.
Yea, that's what I was saying above. You go on a rookie friendly server, and hear nothing but b*tching from the vets who have 1000 f*cking hours. Get real. And most of the won't command, and the ones that do so far in the games I've played have been HORRIBLE all the while complaining.
This always annoyed me. If you're going to complain about the Comm, you should have done it yourself. I've Commed 4 games tonight alone. Vets should be getting in the chair. Period. Players who complain about new Comms should either STFU or get in the chair themselves. Played a game with a new Marine Com and we lost, but we taught him how to do it and how to turtle.
I also got a lerk in the face with a GL in that game. That was fun.
I think it was different though because there was no Commander. Was it called a "combat" server I think? (I didn't know going in, but picked it up and it was fun)
No complaints from anyone all night, not one. Little friendly ribbing from people who obviously play together, that's it. And there were plenty of rookies with low scores. And lots of people with stupidly high scores (I fell right about in the middle of the board as a whole, low on my team).
I just hate seeing people (myself included almost) getting turned off right away by a percieved bad community; like going into Leage of Legends or something (which is notoriously bad, one of the worst gaming communities on the net).
Thank you again for being one of the good guys.
Unfortunately, people are c*nts and they enjoy stomping new players.
Recommend sticking to rookie servers and asking for help. Show an interest in learning and people will be more likely to help.
Yeah, it varies. There are some bad apples on this game, like all games.
Yes, there's a mod called Combat. Those servers will have a CO_ in their map name. I got a section on that in my guide.
There's some stomping now which is annoying.
No problem.
Thanks! I did a bit of reorgnization and added a section about the two mods I find particularly helpful.
