Big lag problems with a decent PC.

Hi everyone,

I recently bought the game, but i have a really big problem : I try to run it on a laptop, with an intel core i5-3210M 2.50 GHz and a radeon HD 8750M, all with 4GB RAM, so even better than the recomended configuration.

The problem is that i can't play decently, with just the resolution of my PC (1366*768) and without options, i have 10 FPS. I need to be in 800*600 to have 25...

I can run a lot of recent games decently (dota 2, fluid with every options for example), so i think there is a problem, but with what ? I saw that the game is running in 32 bit, and my CPU and OS (win 8) are 64, is that a problem ?

When i see people who can run it with a intel HD chipset, i'm a little upset ^^

Your clock speed is under the recommended specs. Also mobile processors gimp on performance to save battery life.

But how a PC with far lower capacity can run it better than mine ? My battery mode isn't in economy mode. Maybe the problem is that i have a chipset and a graphic card, and for this game the graphic card is not detected or something like that...
And big games like Tomb Raider run good too. Maybe it is an installation problem.

You videocard is weaker than even some of the more recent integrated GPUs from AMD ;-)
Try 800x480, should work ok for you.

heeey don't say my GPU is weak ^^, the problem is just with NS 2, even intel HD chipset can run the game better than me, but i can run tomb raider and they can't ? I took time to choose this PC, and i'm sure of its capacities. That's really strange :/

yeah 800*480 works at 20 fps without options, but this isn't normal. As you can see even crysis 3 run better in medium...

Is there some patchs i didn't install ? I won't lose hope :)

Compare this to a recent AMD APU like an A10-6800k:
Radeon HD 8670D
Shader cores: 384
Base frequency (MHz): 844

That is even a dual GPU setup of your card with some integrated AMD GPU.

Okay Apocalypse, but with the price i paid and the weight of my PC i still think it's great. But thanks for opening my eyes on this point.

Anyway, the problem evolved now. I'm in state of red alert.

I tried to uninstall the integrated one (intel hd 4000) to check if the game were working with just the card amd. but there was a big problem. Now the 2 Cards are not identified by my PC after reboot, but worse, the drivers from intel and amd website aren't working ! now when i start a game it's all white flashy and videos on internet are lagging. Dayum i hope i didn't ruined my PC, is there a solution ??

i get 14 fps and im running everything in lowest... and i have a dual core 3.4 ghz amd processor and a radeon 7660 cgraphics card and 12 gb ram much sadness oh well i got it for 2 bucks so whatever

lol that pc isnt as great as you think, look up the drivers by model. just get back to functioning again, not much more you can do there

No the CPU should not really bottleneck right now, as I have mentioned I have a similar weak GPU on my notebook, and even on 800x480 and minimal settings I am still waiting for the GPU. That 4600M CPU should be even slower than his i5-3210M.

For your driver problems, they to remove and reinstall them. And if they keep not working, try the drivers from your notebook manufacture.

OP, I'm sorry but the PC, a laptop, is not that great. The price and the weight of the thing don't mean ♥♥♥♥. The fact that you have a laptop already hinders your ability to run a high spec game decently. Laptop hardware is much weaker than desktop, and is built for power efficiency. Your CPU is definitely bottlenecking with that clock speed, and you have a low amount of RAM as well. As others have said, you should make sure you're running the dedicated GPU and not the integrated one. Quite frankly, I'm not too surprised that you are getting that kind of performance from this laptop. Depending on settings, this game can even stress some decent desktops. It also isn't very well optimized either, but it's far better than it used to be.

I hate to be a buzzkill, there may be some tweaking you can do to bring up the performance, but don't expect too much.

I will try System Restore. It might work. As i said, i bought this PC 500 euros, so yeah i hoped too much, and for this price it's hard to have better components. (and i have another gaming computer for games so...)
