Blue screen on startup

when i start the game up it plays the sounds but i just get a blue scree, ive tried toe set the game to start in windowed mode and to set it to my screen resolution but neither does anything, any help i can get from here?

thanks but i got it, what i did was i found out you can make it go into windowed mode by pressing ctrl and enter or something so i could set the resolution. but thanks for the input
