the map is free for everyone
the dlc part are the skins only

Like Loki said, the map is free. If you want you can donate to support Unknown Worlds and the community modder(s). We've seen 'paid' DLC in the past too via reinforcement donator badges, shadow badge gave shadow skins.

There are no plans to make Natural Selection 2 free to play, and the Kodiak Pack is the latest in a long history of paid player customisation options, the others being

- Black Armour
- Deluxe Edition Armour
- Assault / Elite Assault Armour
- Shadow Skulk, Gorge, and Lerk
- World Championship Shoulder Pads

Yes yes, paid customisation options. The model of income and results that has littered NS2 with scoreboard Icons and skins in the name and price of support. Inflated prices as if it was a luchen with a politician.

NS2 may not be F2P, but the DLC that has made it's way into the game is. When considering times like now when the official servers are playing just that one map, then I might conclude that profit alone will guide UWE's hand. Leaving those whom wanted no part tense at what change will come to their paid-for-content.

Exalt.. you just don't get it do you? NS2 hasn't stopped changing for over 4 and a half years...
I am sorry you have to come to grips with this, but it is a multiplayer game and IS subject to constantly changing, just like any "paid-for-content" that is multiplayer...

Stop your crusade in these forums about this topic. Your opinion has been heard on the matter dozens of times now (thanks to the many threads you have spammed)

Optimize the game first before selling any new paid DLC..do i honestly have to boot up my highest end rig using an i7 Extreme 4960 X and GTX Titan Z just to play this?

Geez..it cannot even work properly 100% on my spare rig with a GTX 680 and i7-4770k(both rigs have at least 32 GB RAM, i could buy up to the limit of 196 GB if i wanted but it's useless sicne the game has crappy optimizations).
