on the other hand we have titanfall, that is a fast paced team deathmatch/capture and hold multiplayer game thats 6v6 with bots thrown in, in a way its the FPS version of a moba, its fast and all about action in alot of ways its just like CoD in alot of others it aint, its alot better than CoD in that respect, it feels diffrent and new something CoD has lacked in a long time.
both games are very very diffrent however no doubt it will take some players away after all it is an FPS and this is the FPS genere, but I dont think its gonna draw to heavily from the NS2 pool than some other games, since the players are defualt more tactical rather than adrenaline junky by nature.
So, maybe think about your own expectation again for this game, because from what I've seen so far everybody is expecting a whole new shooter experience. It would be a shame if you hated this game just because it's not as awesome and new as you thought it would be.
It isn't.
It's a PC game too.
A very well made one too.
It's also made on the Source Engine, so if anything, the game was made for PC then ported for Consoles, which is the correct way of making a cross-platform game.
Anyway, the only thing that really screamed NS2 at me were that Titans.
It just screamed "EXOSUIT EXOSUIT EXOSUIT" for some reason.
The Beta is amazing though, and if you have access to it then you should definitely try it.
Oh, and Jetpacks isn't anything similar to NS2 either.
In-fact, there aren't any Jetpacks.
It's just a little jump booster that let's you double jump.
I already see enough people sit around on their pres not buying mines and welders so they can get the awesome mechsuits that they go out and lose 30 seconds later as is.
The game starts with basic infantry combat but once titans drop on the field there is a serious cat-and-mouse aspect to moving around the map, especially when your infantry move around like a skulk would...in that sense it is a lot like NS2.
Fans of NS2 would probably be more comfortable playing Hard Point, as you need to hold points on the map instead of just raking kills, which discourages camping and using cheap methods to get kills.
I just might take a break from NS2, but I'll probably switch between both more than anything.
Invalid argument, those guys wouldn't even bother to play the game to begin with. We're talking about active players and likely reasons why they might go to Titanfall in this case, not players who dislike or don't play the NS2.
IT USES SOURCE ENGINE.
There's a game all of us here know of that should have and was going to use the Source engine but decided to make a really buggy and unoptimized engine.
*cough*ns2*cough*
If you can run Half-Life 2, CSS, TF2, or G-MOD, then you can absolutely run Titanfall.
Can't say that for NS2.
For NS1 definitely.
This isn't to say I don't like NS2; I love it, but when I first played the Titanfall Beta it was love at first sight.
It's not about the graphics, it's about how well I can run the game and if it's fun.
TitanFall does both well, NS2 only does fun well.
First off: Alot of game engines are originally created for Pc, yet they have a ton of exclusives for console.
What this meansi s that said game could end up being ported from console to PC.
Same goes for Titanfall, which was originally to be made for xbox, aand it was later known they would also release it on PC.
Secondoff..
if you can run HL2, you can NOT expect to run TItanfall. No offencfe. Titanfall uses a way newer source engine.
hl2 can be run on a single core 1.5 ghz with a nvidia 5200.
L4D2 cannot. L4D1 can but with lag.
NS1 can be run on a Pentium 3 600 MHZ with a voodoo 3000 8 MB GPU...
seriously,...
