Concerned about consoles

Historically-speaking, "city builder" and "console gaming" aren't exactly two things we've seen a lot of, and the rare few times it's been attempted haven't exactly gone great.

Is this a PC game that's being ported to consoles, or something that's been built from the beginning/from the ground up with consoles in mind?

To those of you who've played the beta: How's the PC implementation? How's the UI? Does it feel simplistic/simplified/"consolified"?

Will there be Steam Controller support?

We're looking into it as a possibility post-launch, but I can't give you an estimate of the odds at this point. Controller support on PC would also require us to support a console-style interface.

Can we play the game entirely with just a mouse? In other words, is there a clickable button for all game functions, or do we def need a keyboard as well?
Reason I ask is that I will be playing on an Alienware Alpha console, and like to just use a mouse to play games.

Normally I would pick this type of game up on Steam but I am actually planning to go Xbox1 or PS4 on this title. It's good to see these types of titles returning to console. Cities Skylines, Tropic, Aven Colony, etc. is a positive step for consoles.

And PC gamers give a ♥♥♥♥ about the PS4 because?....... Ill never understand why devs like you continue to ignore those of us that enjoy gaming on Pc with a controller. All the assets are there to be ported over, but no. Well, no money from me. I wont be buying for any other piece of ♥♥♥♥ system either.

I don't think they have ignored it, basically Mothership Games developed Aven Colony and then they took on Team17 on board to convert it across to the console, so any console controller support has probably been put in after.

I wouldn't worry too much as I know they are taking on board a lot of feedback from this forum so it wouldn't surprise me if support comes later on as they are still working on the title.

I hope this makes sense as writing it at gone 3am here (lack of sleep).. lol

Any possibility of adding Keyboard and Mouse support to Xbox One version? I know support for KB and Mouse is coming very soon.

Essentially, the PC version has a completely different UI from the console version since the PC version was built for keyboard and mouse and console was designed for a controller.

In a long enough timeline, anything is possible, but in the near term, our priority is getting content drop 1 onto console and finishing content drop 2 and other free updates for the game. That has to take priority over anything else.
