singleplayer crash

Each time I start the singleplayer campaign mode, I can only take a few steps before the game completely crashes. I've tried verifying the game files and uninstalling, but the problem still persists! Multiplayer works fine tho, but the singleplayer mode just wont work. Would love to get some help/fixes for this if possible...

LAN multiplayer without internet possible?

We tried to get the game running at an offline LAN party. Ultimately without success. Is it possible to play this game without an internet connection in a local network (not locally on a computer) or is a connection to an online server mandatory? Of course, that would be a shame, because if the online server were to be shut down one day, this feature would be lost forever :(...
