Anno 2070

Anno 2070

Anno downloading and installing TWICE. Once for steam and again for Uplay
So i just bought Anno 2070 (standard version, no DLC) and upon booting it from steam Uplay was unable to detect any installed game.

The only option i had in Uplay was to download Anno again. I've seen this problem from a few people but there doesn't seem to be a solution.

Has anyone had any luck adjusting the Paths of either the Uplay version or the Steam version?

Raise a ticket with them too.

Where did you submit the ticket? on Steam? on Uplay?

Uplay. This seems to be an issue with ubisoft as Steam is just a distrubuter.

They did reply to my ticket asking whether or not the problem still exists. To test it though i'd have to delete both installs and download it again.

Sorry about the multiple updates. Attempted replocating the Ubisoft install and validating the steam install then booting. I suggested to them, as a temporary fix, that maybe a "shortcut" could be used to point the steam install. Still awaiting reply.

I had this same problem several months ago, back in January or so. I didn't submit a ticket since I didn't mind downloading it again, but I don't know why Uplay didn't recognize it; I thought it was just something wrong with my computer since no one else seemed to experience this. If not, this may have been a problem for a long time.

I had this problem after moving the files over to a new drive a few months back and MAYBE I have a solution. If you start Uplay via the regular start menu and not via steam it will pull you to the games menu and in my case I have two anno "keys" but they are the same. One is "Anno 2070" and the other is "Anno 2070 - Steam." If I remember correctly if you open Uplay up via windows start menu/shorcut whatever, but not having steam open it you should have an option to activiate a product, if you click on the gear option in Uplay. From there you just enter in the cd key from steam and it should work... for what ever reason the Uplay software has two versions of Anno, steam and non steam, and it just defaults to thinking you have the uplay version making you redownload it, entering the steam cd key should work and not force you to download it agian... I think... Hope this helps!

This solution has worked for me. Thank You!

I have already installed both copies. Rtsguy002's process didn't work, perhaps i have to remove the uplay version first, or atleast relocate it.

I reckon this workaround will work for first-time installers.

Have you tried a fresh install of uplay from ubi's website? sometimes that helps too... there used to be a patcher that came out around the same time as the deep ocean release... but I have no idea where it's at or if it would work for you.

if there is two copies of anno you may have to select the steam version from uplay? I'm kinda tossing ideas into the wind here.

I'll try a fresh install of uplay.

Only have vanilla Anno no DLC.
Only have the single version on Uplay.

These ideas are all good and will probably help somone who checks this thread.
