Half of my screen is black.

I've downloaded the game and entered the key onto Uplay and launched it, but the top half of the screen is black... Is there any way to fix this or should i look to steam for a refund? Don't get me wrong, the game seems to work fine, but i just cant see the top half of the screen....

I finally can play the game (login to uplay) sigh. For me also the intro video only displays the bottom however the game self seems fine. (I set all graphics to max. VSync = On (GTX 660 ti) ).

Having the same problem, wtf is going on? It's not my video card because its brand new and this is the only game that does it...

Trying rolling back your driver to a previous one to see if that works. This game doesn't work with a number of GPUs, namely nVidia ones.

Playing the game itself is fine, just the intro is cut in half. Half of the top of my screen is black.
Might be right about nVidia, but it's all good. As long as I can play the game for now that is :)

I get this on my ATI card too.

The Intro movie cut in half is a direct result of that windows update it. It effects many many games. Remove the update and you will have full video.

the issue is that microsoft found a bug in the windows media format that allowed code execution. the updated the windows media format but as a result it breaks all existing videos that use it because of a rendering glitch. trust me, you want the windows hole plugged but in this day with most people using either online flash or html5 video, its not a huge problem.
