That is why I hate games that require online service for content rather than a disk. They get cracked anyways, so what is the point?

Cause those things make the game so exciting, right? Some games make leveling and achievements fun, but HoMM6 isn't one of them.
Here, it's mostly about the whole "Hey guys, you gotta be online all the time, but look, we've added achievements: if you play the game, you'll gain points to... do... stuffs I guess. And here, take this weapon, it can level up and do some more stuff. Awesome sauce init? Have fun".

the only issue with the weapons its the high XP needed, and if you check the box 'quick combat' in options, you'll only earn xp from manual battles...

no that's not correct, those weapons even have exponential effects on your mana-costs in case you were stupid enough to play/level a caster/mage ...

In my game I didn't experience this 'exponential mana-costs effect'. Mostly, my mages' spells are even cheaper than expensive to cast.

before you all start arguing, remember, the patching system is glitched beyond use with some like me still having 1.8.0 with shades of darkness and some having 2.0 and some with 2.1 and then no matter what is listed no two are the same because the patching will not complete properly.
