Other Games Like DA2?
So, although the series isn't new, I've just stumbled upon it and have been playing DA2. I'm absolutely loving it and am addicted, just hit level 10 and am having a blast! I was wondering if there were other games out there like DA2 where you have a party and you can sort of set them up without having to micro-manage.

I read somewhere someone mention Neverwinter Nights 2, but as terrible as this is going to sound, I'm an eye candy type player and after watching some Youtube videos I don't think I would enjoy it as much. I didn't know if there were any recent games that had a similar vibe to DA2, not exactly looking for a carbon copy, but a good rpg with great story. I also don't do First Person so no shootery types... lol!

Anyways, I appreciate and look forward to your feedback. Thank you soo much!!

dragon age origins :) (it's better then this one!) and by the time you finished that one (or at least get tired of it hehe) dragon age inquisition will be out.

also divinity original sin will be to your liking.

You should have started in DAO then import the end game save into DA2. That way your choices actually shape the subsequent game(s).

Though if you only care about eye candy then you probably won't care much for old school hack and slash / D&D RPGs.

Try the Mass Effect franchise. It's a shooter with pretty graphics and RPG elements. Also alien lesbian sex. Much better than dwarven lesbian greasy nug threesome.

Had a great time with Dragon Age Origins and having a ton of fun finishing up Dragon Age 2. I have to second Kick the Bukkit advise and say absolutely give all 3 Mass Effects a spin. It took me a while and a couple false starts on the first mass Effect but once I got goin I played all 3 back to back..one of the most incredible journeys I have had. IAlthough Bukkit says it a shooter with RPG elements I would say it is an RPG with some shotter elements, Give it a try!

Is a first person shooter type? I can't play FPS's because they give me really bad headaches. I would give a shooter a try if it's like you say, an RPG with gun but I have to be able to play in 3rd person.

The ME franchise is 3rd person shooter RPG. You're never in first person. Instead you're always staring at Cmdr. Shepard's butt.

In many ways it controls in a simmiler fashion to Dragon Age 2. You can control each squad member much as you do in DA2. Definetly NOT a FPS. Best take a look at some youtube Let's Plays to get the best idea of gameplay.

No you cannot control your squad in ME series. You can issue move and attack orders but they don't always listen. You definitely cannot switch to their perspective. You also cannot talk to them during missions like in DAO / DA2.

ME2 on especially the shooter elements become much more dominant. They even brought back "reload weapons" because the shooter players apparently didn't know how to play the game w/o reload. Subsequently several missions and the lore itself became contradictory.
