So they have an NPC but no PCs? C'mon man! This is space game. We need alien PCs in there. I mean there are so many sci-fi tropes these days that should've been used at this point.
Hell, look at Stellaris if you need ideas.
Usually there is a cat-like race for instance. Traveller RPG has the Aslans. Niven used Kzinti. Probably a few others.
Other than this lack of aliens, I'm truly stoked about this game..not to the point of buying it yet..but I'm close. Need to review it again. My biggest problem these days is time. I lack time for games... :-(
The blue character by the bar is actually a descendant of a mutation from one of the original ships. He has a bit of dialog that explains. One of the 4 ships that left the homeworld generated numerous mutations that turned into a few species over the 10,000 year journey - Phage are just one of the mutations.
There are also other species that can be added as team members, but I don't want to spoil the fun ;)
It looks very impressive that's for sure! I've never seen a space RPG this large in scope or have this much depth. I'd always wished that Bioware during the Neverwinter Nights era had build a game like this one. Mass Effect was good but the story range was narrow by comparison.
Commodities traders are no yet available. Their prices will also fluctuate depending on your faction, charisma, supply and demand.
Weapons, armor and other looted junk depend on your faction and charisma - those generally do not get traded. Trade items are items that can go in your ships cargo hold. You can make money exploring, mining and trading depending on what you like to do. Smuggling is also an option that involves combat and trading skills among other things.
These sensors are expensive at first but as you progress they become more affordable.
They scan an area of space and higher quality sensors can scan an entire sector.
Heard of it, but never tried it. Is it interesting?
That sounds great.
That aside I think in this game the human race is extinct except for your crack team that was in cryostatis while the human race was ending, So aliens really have to be in the game just to fit the storyline.
