what will the plot of syberia 3's be? *spoiler*

i just finished this game, and i think han's plot is wrapped up nicely. i think it is a happy ending for hans, he finally able to see live mammoth (even riding one!) and pretty much sure it is his choice of place of his death.

so i guess, the 3rd's syberia plot will be kate going home? does that mean we are backtracking all the way from youkol village to validelene?

I really do wonder where the story would go from here. She's reached Syberia, and helped Hans fulfill his dream.

The way I see it, Syberia 3 could only be about 2 things.

1: Kate explores deeper into the lost land of Syberia, and uncovers its mysteries.

2: Kate returns home, but of course gets caught up in a whole lot of things along the way which would serve as the bulk of the game.

I'd kinda prefer option #2. I feel that the wonder and mystery of Syberia should be preserved, and left relatively unexplored. It wouldn't cause any plotholes, and Kate's goodbye to Hans at the end of Syberia II would be all the more meaningful if she turned around and went home at that point. After all, she wasn't looking for Syberia for herself; it was all for Hans, and now he is there, and happy.

I think Kate returning home could also be more interesting, considering what happened in the first game, what with her blowing off her employer and of course dumping her boyfriend. It'd be interesting to see what this leads to when she actually does get back home.

Yeah, I actually just checked them out. I can't help but feel a tad disappointed, but, I'm sure it'll still be a great game, assuming the original creative minds are still behind it. If not...well, we hope for the best lol.

My thoughts on some characters, also spoiler warning:

Was I the only one, who was sad about the (quiet harshly executed) goodbye of Oscar?
I do remember Kate was pretty upset about it. She has to fix him, he is her best friend by now.

It would be nice to see Kate taking care of the Voralberg legacy (factory and automatons). She does not have to run the factory herself, Mr. Alfolter and someone else in Valadilene offer a very fitting solution (almost predetermined in my eyes).

Since Kate would have to go back to the start of her journey now, we have options of visiting familiar places and its characters! Of course we do not want see old rehashed locations only, but imagine a 2015 Barrockstadt! Also, Kate could visit Professor Pons and tell him about Hans and everything, he sure will want to know.

The russian cosmonaut will show up again hopefully, I got no specific ideas on him though.

I really like the idea of bringing back Oscar and fixing things in Valadilene. Now that could alert another party, which will now investigate Kate and the factory. Who knows, maybe they heard about that mammoth/ancient village myth, maybe they just wonder where Kate has been for the past months. She cannot give away the location of the mammoths/ancient culture so she has to flee with Oscar... ,who most likely will keep trolling us here and there in his lovely way :)

i like that idea. when we conveyed the message from hans to oscar i just know that was gonna happen, in one way or another. maybe kate is staying behind to learn clockwork machinations from the youkols. they seem to have really advanced machinations despite being made of bones and leathers, hans somehow was born (or got it when the accident happened) with technological aptitude of the youkols. after all, the ancient youkols built the ark and those giant horns.

plus if i remember right, oscar's "heart" wasn't part of the suit when han's goes tony stark. so his memories and personality might not be lost after all

From the metroids website, it seems more likely to see Kate go deeper into syberia.
And from the two previous Syberia, it's likely she'll never go back home. She has nothing more back in the US, and all those people are too disconnected from the marvels she as experienced.
I suppose she will travel with the nomadic tribe and have to quest things to move on.
