Scratches: Director's Cut

Want a game that will scare you?
This game makes modern horror games look like amateur-hour, mickey mouse nonsense.

Dat ending.

yea game is amazing and way creepy. scarier than most others i've played and crazy how it does it from a first person point and click perspective without violence. uses power of suggestion and imagination so well. great atmosphere. in fact not sure what other game at all would even creep me out these days tbh and this does the job and i even know the plot p well.

yea ♥♥♥♥, THAT ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bit... was scary enough just watching someone else play it... not there yet on my playthrough. don't spoil it for new dudes people!! don't want to click that gif cos i'm tryin to forget it all haha. now do I really want to go to bed on second night? balls ;)
I loved this game so much, wish I could forget everything about it just to experience it again...

I bought this game on a whim and its awesome so far! I got stuck and had to resort to a walkthrough but luckily I didn't hit any spoilers. Missed something right infront of my face. Would it have been wiser to begin with hints on?

It's better, at least in a couple of points in particular when you have to find some candles and in the second night, the first time i would never think "that's" the solution. Creep O.o

How long do I need to play it in order to have a shock experience or anything creepy going on? I was playing it a while now, I looked at lots of paintings, walked several stairs, found enough bricks and wooden planks to build a nice dog-house, I unlocked a few doors, I was wondering where the African pottery was coming from, I still did not figure out what I was missing in that room from which if I exited it I got the message, I may have forgotten something and to be honest, so far it is "nice" like reading the handbook of my latest vacuum cleaner.

Maybe I am not very patient....

Up until you're able to go down to the basement, the game and the house seem relatively calm and nice and goodfeel and happy go-lucky and whatever.

The entire game after I managed to go down to the basement kinda made me slowly become more and more freaked out, basically just half an hour into the game I was so sure there would be hell around every corner XD The atmosphere and music add to the crawling sensation of creepiness so that after about an hour of gameplay you're basically prepared that every door opened and every corner turned will put you through hell.
Make sure you read EVERYTHING you come across. There are lots of diaries and notes around that add to the story.

To quote another great adventuregame of its time:
Sit back and relax.
Turn down the lights.
Light a candle.
Are you alone?
Are you sure?

I will check this out, sounds good. I liked Slenderman as well, espcially in that tunnels, where this creepy girl (?) was chasing you just out of nowhere....

You once again stepped into the world of survival horror.... Good luck!

I beat this game, in the dark, volume up and never found a single scary or nerve jolting aspect to it. Idk, maybe i'm just too used to horror games at this point. I will say the atmosphere was very good though and it did keep the immersion alive.
