Fragmented social media
Hiya dev guys,

I just bumbled into the webGL render announcement which is awesome, really looking forward to it. Nice. https://twitter.com/ScreepsGame/status/898175432708820992

...but I found the tweet link on a slack channel. Not the landing/default channel...but one of the many fragmented slack channels as is the nature of IRC.

I missed a client update posting the other day because it was listed on GIT. Albeit an almost irrelevant update for the end user, but nonetheless.

As a Steam purchaser; I have absolutely no reason to log in to screeps.com, slack, twitter, or even gitHub to be honest. This is the first game I've owned that seems to pull users away from the Steam environment so actively. Case in point; this Steam forum has a really low activity frequency compared to literally any game I've every played, despite having a substantial user base.

Sifting through javascript syntax, the game API and LoDash docs is in it's own right fairly fragmented, but I'm OK with it as it's a natural part of programming. But the social updates element seems to be all over the place.

As completely petty as it sounds, is there a reasonable way to consolidate, automate, or otherwise get all this stuff in one place?? Obviously I have a preference to the Steam forum/posts etc. The Screeps.com forum and Steam make sense. The rest is too easily burried.

Sorry if it seems like I'm dribbling stickling...I'm multi-screening with a dozen tabs open and decided finding screeps info was getting out hand!! :steammocking:

All news posts and changelogs are cross-posted in blog.screeps.com and here in Steam announcements. I don't think you miss anything important if you follow Steam news only.

Hmm, OK.

I literally just now discovered this: https://screepsworld.com/ which is yet another page. I don't even know if it's official or where I bumbled into the link for that, but there's a lot of fun stuff there!

It's unofficial. All official resources are listed in the side menu in the game, in Steam as well, so perhaps you must have learned about the Twitter feed from there rather than from Slack :)
