Will Capcom ever release DR1 for PC?

It seems rather strange that Capcom have the entire Dead Rising series on PC yet the first Dead Rising was only really released on Xbox 360 if you don't count the Nintendo Wii's Chop Till You Drop which is nothing like the game.

Why no Dead Rising 1 on PC?

Because DR1 is built on MTFrameworks which is a Japan only game engine and the Dead Rising franchise got handed to Canadians afterwards. To get DR1 on PC, Capcom needs to either

A)Get a Japanese studio to port it
B)Translate the toolset into English.
C)Remake the game from scratch.

Given the age of the engine, I doubt B is going to happen.

Also we don't have the entire series on PC aside from 1. We're still missing Case Zero, Case West, Dead Rising 3 Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha and the Frank and Chuck Outfits for DR3.

It'd be really nice if they did some sort of remaster for Dead Rising next year for the 10th anniversary or something. I couldn't care less about Case Zero/Case West.

Off the Record is my personal favorite, even more than 3, but would love a 1 remake. I'd hope they would fix the food issue in sandbox though, not much of a sandbox if you die eventually.

That's not an issue, it's intentional. Infinity mode is meant to be a survival challenge. A proper sandbox mode would be nice though.

Just putting it down here in case anyone with pull is reading this:

I would dive head-first into a Dead Rising: Anniversary Edition or whatever you want to call it, in full on 'take-my-money' fanboy frenzy.

Hell I just bought a q9650 so I could squeeze a little more juice out of my aging PC to play Dead Rising 3.

Capcom, the fanbase is here, feed us!

I totally would get Dead Rising 1 on PC, there is a change.org petition but not many people know about it, it only has 95 people or so. we must spam everything to do with Capcom for this, make some noise! go to DRs Facebook page, go to capcoms forums! and spam the steam forum on DR2, DR2:OTR and DR3 and anting else we can think of. But that's just me

MGS 1 and 2 were ported to PC, just not on Steam, and they were kinda crappy, Rising and GZ are awesome though, I know that was off topic, but Twin Snakes is just an updated MGS1, prolly won't happen, and yeah, we've all been waiting for a month now...I wish the update was released with a functioning importer tool.....or you know, let us use our old saved...achievements aren't that big a deal hoenstly, I can earn them again, I just want my save.

You do know that they still use MT Frameworks today, right? The engine is old but it's still in use. Also, it is not a Japan-only engine. That's complete BS.

Dead Rising was likely produced on an exclusitivity contract with Xbox, which is why it's staying there.

yea having all these in a huge bundle for PC would be cool. even the little side games that tell the sotries in between the games? i think thats what there purpose was eveytime i seen them spamed on 360 before the next game came out lol.

either way i didnt care too much for the first one. and i honestly havnt tried any of the others yet. hoping to get OTR though since it has a sandbox mode.
