Why should a Capcom DRM game, if it will be unplayable on the next year?

Really, i am very interested on it, but i don't see any reason why should i spend my money with a early unplayable game.

Someone already mentioned this on one of the boards. The shutdown of LIVE will only entail the marketplace and customer services. The game servers themselves will remain untouched.

Multiplayer uses GFWL, single player should still function after it goes down, and the game has a system link (LAN) function so you can still play it that way. But there's some stuff like it uses account info from GFWL to identify you and other people, so there's gonna be some obvious issues once GFWL shuts down and if the game isn't patched.

I don't have this game so I am not sure how it works on it but on all of my GFWL Steam games (DOW 2, Red Faction Guerrilla, Super SF4, and a few others) you CANNOT save your single player game unless you are logged into GFWL. Again, you can play single player, but cannott save. In the case of some games you can't even save the options settings (SSF4) so that renders them pretty much unplayable.

And for anybody who asks, I checked by both disconnecting my internet and by just simply not logging in. If I'm missing a way to play single player and still be able to save my game, let me know please. I would love to buy this and LPC on PC.

Where are you getting your info ? All I've read (and from my own experiments) reports that ALL GFWL games will be unplayable or at least unable to save single player progress (and obviously multi will be gone) unless GFWL is patched out.

Just tried logging into my profile on GFWL with no internet connected and it failed but is letting me play and save so looks like I will be getting this after all. Don't know if it will work if your profile is ever not on your machine though like if you get a new PC or whatever. Still so long as that profile data is on your PC you can still play and save single player.

So, the secret is, play all GFWL offline? How can i play it offline anyway?

I've been messing around with all my GFWL steam games and this seems to be the only way we are going to play single player and save progress when the service shuts down next year if reports are true. One of my PC's is unhooked from the internet right now. I just launched my game (it was SSF4AE ) and signed into GFWL. However since it was unable to connect with the service it started my gamertag in offline mode. I then tried it with DOW2 and it did the same. So thats it I guess but I would assume your profile must be stored locally on your PC for it to work.
