Lost Planet 2

look at all the money you lost from that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ drm capcom.
why the hell would you come all the way back here to put the came back on the store page to leave the game on a broken and abandoned drm. I mean dam you think when you came back you'd atleast realize the shear gravity of a problem this caused. you have lost literal millions to possibly 1 billion of dallors you could have earned if you properly supported your game from the get go. most gamers from the console fanbase have moved to pc do to most of the newer games being ♥♥♥♥ with zero local coop support on most of them "why would i buy a console if i can't play with the person next to me". steam has experinced a large spike in its player base because of this and that player base likes to by older games that they know are fun and won't screw them over aka just about any well mad 360 game put on steam. lost planet 2 even experinced this large hike as its returning fanbase bought in to your very unfinished port. between 2016 and up sales numbers for this game have been threw the roof because of this but if there threw the roof why would i be mentioning this because about half of your customers from this spike have refunded the game. Think about it like this your revenue from 2016 from this game to now you could have easily doubled or even trippled but because of this drm you have lost all that revenue. The drm is very complicated to set up and most player after they first install the game and the game not work right are just going to assume its broken and get a refund or worse they dodged the game all together because they have either heard or tried a game that uses gfwl before. Even the people who went threw all the effort to make your game work still say that drm is crap and thats even when it does work.

Eh, it depends. I have helped multiple people set it up and some do just fine and some no guide seems to work. I had one guy who was having so many issues despite following guides that I just zipped up my whole GFWL install for him which let him actually update the game etc

I agree that, since Lost Planet 2 is not playable with zero effort right out of the virtual box, Capcom has lost out on a lot of profit.

I also agree that the set up required of the user is not in any way difficult or warrants the avoidance or refunding of the game.

Therefore, I feel that the problem is two fold:
Capcom not putting just a little more (but still important) effort into the port;
players not putting just a little more (but still important) effort into getting a game to run based on the trust that it would be worth it.

If either one of those issues were fixed, then Lost Planet 2 on Steam would be saved.

However, I don't think the majority of players are going to change any time soon (ignorant, short-sighted kids these days), but I feel that if someone is not willing to give a game a decent chance (by putting at least the tiny amount of effort in required to fix their install of Lost Planet 2) then they reap their reward of missing out on a good game.

And I don't think Capcom is going to change, either (ignorant, short-sighted publishers these days), but I feel that if someone is not willing to give a game a decent chance (by putting at least the tiny amount of effort in required to fix Lost Planet 2 on Steam) then they reap their reward of missing out on a lot of profit.

However however, the solution I propose, though not entirely satisfying, is to reach out to the gaming community to convince those players who would give a good game a fair chance based solely on the recommendations and guidance of other players, to do so for Lost Planet 2. If you agree with me, then help me figure out how best to do this.

you do know for $20 i could probably get a xbox 360 and get the from gamestop for less then a $1. most of the sales are not from people who missed out on the great game their people who already played it. most of them aren't some sort sighted childern either their just fans of a rather great game who are used to not having to jump through hoops and by them refunding the game after the bought it off of steam their showing capcom that lost planet 3 was just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game compared to the other to and i don't think with their looming bankruptcy and them watching so much money slip out of their hands. They would have ever considered making a lost planet 4 otherwise if they didn't see that its had such a large jump in intrest recently.

my piont is that its a unessary hassile and people on the pc platform realy don't like gfwl. Them not buying the game over it may not send a message to the publishors but by them refunding it and directly stating its over gfwl sends a message to capcom that it is a problem. keep in mind microsoft isn't supporting gfwl anymore it has a different program for online gaming now and i don't think they will stop capcom for releasing a direct port to steam on the grounds they already let from software release dark souls on steam without gfwl.
