Difference between this and (New Steam version) *SOLVED*

What is the difference between: Company of Heroes - and - Company of Heroes (New Steam version)???
When I installed the New Steam version, it installed the Tales of Valour expansion

CoH: Tries to connect to relic based servers which are offline now as THQ went bankrupt. Lists the different games in your library, but by launching CoH you still got access to the other games you have. Little/no bugs in the game

CoH NSV: Uses Steamworks servers to play singleplayer and multiplayer. Friends list is linked in with your Steam friends list, uses your steam account to play. Only one game in library with the expansions added on as DLC. Numerous bugs in the multiplayer area, best to play with friends.

my Coh nsv wont start. what do i do?

and the steam version lags and runs terrible. ive got the disc version and can knock out well over 100 avg fps. in the steam version im lucky to get 25 fps. all on the same system and graphics card; i7 920, 18Gb, HD 6970 2gb and SSD.

After a long time away from the game I thought I might play COH today (the non-steam version). But I discoverred the Relic servers are now gone. What to do? How can I play online against my friends? Do I have to purchase the Steam version? Or is there some way of playing the original DVD version via the steam servers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need to download the New Steam Version by adding the retail cd keys to your steam account. By clicking on games, the activate a product on steam. Add all your CD keys to your steam account.

After that you should have a number of CoH titles in your library, including Company Of Heroes new steam version.

You only need to download the New Steam Version. The other CoH titles are just like your disk copies and will try and connect to the offline relic servers.

Have a look in the guides section of this forum and of the CoH NSV forums. I think there are guides which can help you.

Ah, ok, saves my time - I used my old key today and both versions were starting download.
So i can skip the old version. New steam version takes enough time ;)

What the heck is going on here ?? - Disabled Updating of old version and put it down in the download-list. Put New-Steam-Version on top. But a few hours later, it is exactly opposite.
Damn, I am not nuts - that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Ah crap I just bought it and I could of use my old CD Key, haha. Oh well. Time to download some mods, can you still play those?

i dont know if you can use mods in games installed thru steam

you only need to install and play New Steam version. (due to THQ being bought over by some other company previously). It has all the DLCs inside too as long you purchased them.

The rest dont need to install (just remove them /uninstall to save space).

playing the older CoH games won't let you connect to multiplayer too. servers are all in the new steam version.
