Hello everyone,

As some of you may have noticed, we have updated the names of the two versions of COH1 that coexist on Steam - to both of which you should all have access to:

• the one formerly known as "Company of Heroes" is now "Company of Heroes - Legacy Edition"
  
• the one formerly known as "Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)" is now simply known as "Company of Heroes"

Going forward, the "Company of Heroes" app is the one you should use if you want to play online and enjoy the Steam Workshop maps. Store pages descriptions were also tweaked accordingly for clarity - but it took us a couple of days. Sorry about that. Try clearing your browser cache if you don't see them now, however.

We did not want to remove the Legacy Edition altogether because:

• some of you guys are still playing it, for various reasons (including old mods)
  
• COH1 total conversion pages are tied to it in the Steam back-end, and we can't change that
  
• most of the reviews for COH1 are tied to it in the Steam back-end, and we can't change that / transfer them to the newest app

Obviously, anyone buying the Legacy Edition still automatically gets access to the latest version of the game as well in their library ("Company of Heroes", formerly "New Steam Version")! Sorry for the late post in this Community Hub; the last couple of weeks were a bit busy.

Top class community content and modding have played a major part in the longevity of the original Company of Heroes. And we want to help that continue! That's why we have just updated the game with Steam Workshop capabilities and an in-game Workshop hub. This means you can now play, share, and manage your subscriptions to custom scenarios without exiting the game, or manually installing files!

What's more, the incredible Eastern Front mod for Company of Heroes is now available on Steam. Get ready to wage war with the original Company of Heroes 2 factions, the Soviet Army and the German Ostheer, in the original game!

Additionally, for all you collectors out there, you'll be excited to hear that this update also sees the introduction of Steam Trading Cards.

The Far East War mod for COH1 is now available on Steam (for free)! To celebrate this, all the COH1/2 games are discounted on Steam till Monday December 19th (Pacific Standard Time).

COH1 turned 10-year old this past Monday. To celebrate, the whole franchise is now on sale! If you are playing COH2, check-out the in-game store too: everything is at least 66% OFF for a week!

Alright soldiers, the December patch is live, and the new Commander free trial has begun. You should receive an in-game message with the Commanders (might need to reboot the game). Trial ends on December 10th, after which the commanders will be available for purchase in the in-game store, starting with limited-time bundles at a discount. Have fun and good luck!

The Heavy Cavalry Company and Feuersturm Doctrine are FREE to try this weekend! Anyone who owns the respective OKW / USF multiplayer armies, logs in and plays from Friday October 30 10am PDT to Sunday November 1 11:59pm PDT will be able to storm the battlefield with either commander. Be sure to log in, as 30 players who test them out during the free trial will also be gifted the Commanders for free!

If you want to add the new Commanders to your army, they are 33% off on the in-game store until Thursday, November 5 at 11:59pm PDT!
