Hi

I've had a request for this before and unfortunately it isn't possible at the moment because of the way Unity3D (The program I use to make Whirligig) handles importing jpgs. There is a way to convert MPO's quickly though which I advised someone else I'll paste the reply I gave them below and hopefully it will help you and others who would like to do something similar.

---------------------------------------
Regarding MPO support I've researched into this before and it's not currently possible. It is very similar to jpg but each file actually contains 2 jpg files. I use Unity's png,jpg importer and it only imports the first of the two jpgs and I can't get access to the second. It is something I would like to offer support for in the future but until Unity update their importer or there is another way to bring in stills it's not going to be possible, sorry.

I've had a search and found a program that will convert you mpo files into side by side jps files which Whirligig can handle. The program can be downloaded here:

direct link to zip::

It's just a case of unzipping the files into a folder and dragging and dropping your mpo's onto the bat file to convert them. Once converted you'll have a jps which can be viewed in Whirligig. The jps actually has the left and right eye swapped though but you can swap those eyes easily in the settings menu (f2).

--------------------------------------

I hope this helps. If I found a way to do this in the future I'll add support. I might make a tutorial on how to do this as well as I think people will find it useful. If I do I'll link it here.

If you have any issues or other questions please let me know.

All the best

Phil

I tried the tool. Unfortunately, it is useless in practice. I have thousands of MPO files. I would have to convert each file individually. The second problem is, I have now all the pictures twice only to be able to view them with the program. It would be much easier if Whirligig could directly read the mpo files.
