Purchase of upgrades

When you purchase upgrades such as for the Chopper run and the Winterstan, are the purchases a one time deal or do you get the upgrades permanently?

Depends how you pay for it. You can buy permanently and use as much as you like if you buy with real-world money (through Steam credits or PSN credits), or you can rent for a single game using coins (which you earn normally in the course of play – your score at the end of the match is how many coins you get to spend).

It's worth noting that coins don't transfer between games. If you play a ton of Winterstan and score really high every time, you may be able to afford to rent the Mech upgrade every match – but to afford renting homing missiles in River Run, you need to play River Run.

I had purchased upgrades for the Mech and the homing missles through steam with real money. I had the upgrades the first time I played but when I go back now to play I no longer have them.

Yikes, that was our mistake! Fortunately, our devs were able to locate the issue and fix it already because you were the only one to encounter that bug. We refunded you your credits and threw in an extra ten bucks' worth by way of apology. Sorry about that!
