bought this for $3.60 which I thought was a good deal,but was dissapointed that the graphics were shody,could hardly see where you were driving from all the background blurring and being jumbled up in front of your dashboard.be nice if game developers got all the bugs out before sending these games to steam for sale.buying this game before buying the other two GTR games has made my dission not buy the other two.

You need to max out AF and AA in your video card control panel to make it look good, you can't do it in the game settings. All simbin games are like this but they look great after that.

Even the newest simbin title "Injection" has this problem but looks great once you max out AA and AF.

running it on an dell inspiron 1545.dont think I can adjust the video card,whats AA and AF?

Do you play other pc 3d games and if so do they play well on your pc? I'm not familiar with notebook gaming but even this old game needs some graphic processing power in order to be played smoothly in good graphics. I'm not 100% sure but your graphic chip may not be up to the job.

AA is used for removing jaggies but makes image bit dull and AF is to counter that and make image texures look more clear.

so far I've played Flatout on my laptop and that plays great,I'm guessing my graphics card isn't cutting it,and I don't think my laptop is upgradable in the graphics department.

I did some more digging around and it seems there are a lot of people who enjoy playing pc games on thier laptop with GMA 4500MHD graphic chipset and there were some really useful informations too like which games should run well on thier pc or how they should optimise the settings. And those lists of games include latest titles so yeah maybe I was wrong and you maybe able to run this game if you're prepared for some reading and tweaking. Anyway you should check those info out by just googling "GMA 4500MHD gaming" that will keep you busy for a while:)

I view this game as a historic example of what we had to play if we wanted authentic racing back in the day, ten years ago. There was F1 Challenge 99-02, Nascar Thunder series, Grand Prix Legends and then this one. It happened and it shined briefly yet brightly before the next generation of PC simulations arrived. The successors (GTR2 and to lesser extent GTL and rFactor) still have a lot to offer to racing enthusiasts, they improved a lot in graphics and handling. Don't judge the whole series by GTR, please.

in the day this game looked great, doesn't look all that bad for a almost 8yr old game.there's much worse looking games out from that time frame.

edit your config.ini in "GTR" folder in your personal docs (my documents), and edit the line "VIDEOMODE=36" to 36 as I pasted to use 1920X1080, the other resolutions I dont know. in GTL and GTR2 you can set in the launcher.
