Strangest thing ... doesn't even launch sort of ... nothing at all.
So ...
I truly do hear you. But when we look at prices of other games ...
Hey, CodeMasters' games are on sale ... deep discount ... look into "Grid"?
p.s. I'm looking for an F1 game that will run on my work PC. No GPU; 2X3.0GHz; 8Gig DDR2; Win10.
This happens especially when early versions were more/less beta ... the next iteration fixed a lot of basic stuff.
BUT if "Does not run under W10" is a known issue, they should say so.
I only bought it a couple of weeks ago. (Looking for games that don't require my game PC.) I would not have if I knew, obviously.
Not okay.
I'm not going to call them corrupt. (And let's face it, there's a lot of that around.) I'll say this ... call me a limp-wristed liberal, if you must. (Jump trained infantry at 17 /*shrug*/) But if you know anything about getting ♥♥♥♥♥ done you'll hear what I'm saying.
They got the game out of the gate. Prolly next version required almost complete re-factoring of code, if not re-engineer for a new rendering engine.
Years later, plowing through rev after rev after rev, turns out Win 10 breaks F1 2011. What's a reasonable response? blow jobs for all of us and all our friends?
Shrug it off fella ... just shrug it off.
Or start another crusade /*shrug*/ At this point I'm gonna go with whatevuh.
F1 2011 however does have known issues running under dx11 , If you upgraded to windows 10 you may be able to run the game in dx9 , in my experience if you have a clean install of W10 , which does not support dx9 natively, you may run into problems, I run F1 2011 on windows 7 x64 , in dx 9.
A combination of dx files missing on W10 (for some users) and also using older GFWL client software, add to that the games already well documented problems under dx11 =Welcome to PC gaming in the 21st centuary.
Not a problem for experienced PC users , but a minefield for the less experienced. I hope this helped. GL
The new bunch of coders are really arrogant to those of us who've flown ?what? hundreds of hours. (FSE anyone?)
HeyHo, so it goes.
Note: If you already tried downloading GWMC, I suggest uninstalling this first.
1) Download Windows Live Essentials - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/essentials
MSN Messenger no longer exists so ignore that when it pops up after installing but otherwise just login with your Windows ID when prompted.
2) Download the Games for Windows Marketplace Client: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Live/PC/DownloadClient
This solution only worked for me if I installed this AFTER the Windows Live Essentials, when I did 1) after 2) I had no success.
3) Now after clicking play the game loads, and the Windows Live info appears at the top - just login using the Windows ID and go (on mine it required me to update the GWMC client so had to restart the game while this updated).
Either very weird voodoo or some joke to load yet more MicroSloth crud.
I hope folk who are having trouble with Win10 aren't using some stale-dated installer.
