Logitech profiler vs steam
So, im using a Logitech GT... something driving wheel. To config the wheel I use the Logitech Profile program. I can adjust FF, degree of wheel turning and so on. With this program I can also make a profile for any game, add the shortcut and launch it from the profile... But, steam do not allow this. Had the same problem with Driver SF, but that was probably due to ubicrap extra protection.

So, anyone know how to let me config my wheel for the game the way I like it? (as in actually make use of logitechs profile to edit the wheel to my liking)

The wheel works, the problem is that it bypasses the profile. Ingame options do not suffice.

Is it like this on every racing game on steam? If so I will never buy a driving sim via steam again.

mmm I will try later, but I haven't found any problem configuring the G27 using the logitech profiler in other games.

its really easy. almost all my dozen or so driving games are via steam and the profiler works perfectly.

It's allready linked: SteamApps\common\DiRT 3\dirt3.exe
Atleast it doesnt work to start with that shortcut, gives me error. Maybe it works in the background anyway?

It should work in the background, you don't need to launch the game from the logitech profiler to make it work. You can also make changes "on the fly". Play the game, press ALT+TAB, change stuff from the logitech manager and then go back to the game to see how it plays.
Also in the Logitech Profiler>>Specific Game Settings, remember to check "Use special game settings" and UNCHECK "Allow Game to adjust settings", otherwise your settings will not work.

If I remember correctly, the exe called dirt3-game launches dirt3.exe. Its whatever is running in task manager that you want to make a profile for. In other words, if you do it correctly, logitech profiler will NOT launch dirt 3. You always have to launch it from another shortcut on the desktop or something. Profiler will detect it and apply the settings. You can also test this by making the global profile have a different rotation amount than the dirt3 profile and you'll notice right away that its working.
