Beast mode strategy?

I'm having an impossible time with beast mode. Can anyone offer some strategy ideas?

Many people think that beast mode is really, really hard. I don't blame them because when I first started playing Galcon I thought it was impossible too. But the idea how to beat Beast is very simple. You have to take planet from the beginning with 100% of your ships, don't try to defend yourself just yet. When you have an obvious ship and production advantage, you are ready to defend.
