Statement about the use of Denuvo (updated)
Hello everyone,

Based on recent events and the sheer amount of community feedback we received regarding 2Dark’s use of Denuvo, we have now taken the decision to remove Denuvo from 2Dark.

At the time of this message, we have released a small update to the game which removes Denuvo, allowing you to play Denuvo-free.

We want to thank all of you who provided your feedback.

If you have more to add on the topic, please reply here.

Yeah, I do have to add more.

Maybe STOP releasing games with Denuvo DRM?

And, even better, maybe update your EXISTING games to remove that DRM too?

lol, that's funny. Since it has been cracked, no point on using it anymore, right? Now you have an overpriced game (because you had to pay to use Denuvo, which you just removed a month after the game's release). I'm still not buying it. It was a bad decision to use Denuvo in the first place. Pirate games are only good on 2 situations for me.
1- I can try the game since most of the games have no demo these days. (and almost every time I buy the game).
2- Denuvo games made by greedy developers. (It's pretty much a no buy for me. Rare exceptions).

You should re-think your strategy on your next games....

Just put the game on GOG.
That's all I want :)

Guys, maybe be honest and admit that you're doing this because it's been hacked - not because you care about your customers. If you cared about your customers, you would not have canceled the Linux build.

Shame.

Can you also consider bringing this game to GOG? Back then, I looked forward to playing this game via GOG. Would of been nice to have this game alongside other Alone in the Dark series on that platform.
Keep updating and improving the game with new content and you still MIGHT save yourselves.

Hahahaha

I hope you never do a game again!

Greedy bastards.

They didn't do the game. They only published it.

Only after you directly LIED to the people who funded your game

2Dark Devs guaranteed a 100% DRM free version of the game on their crowdfunding. Turns out they're bold-faced liars. They snuck Denuvo in 2 weeks prior to release. Now they are refusing to address it to the people who funded the entire game.

Bigben, please remove Denuvo from your past catalogue as well.

I update 2dark, if i use steam offline, the game doesn't launch, this update doesn't work...

Now it's about time to remove it from Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter too. What is it protecting right now? Literally nothing. It only affects paying customers.

They (bigben) did what they did, now give them a redemption chance if possible. Though I have an 'evaluation copy', I didn't find it my kind of game.

I think it's a good move. DRM, without question, has a net negative effect on sales.

File-sharing on the other hand has a net postive effect I would contend. The buzz created will lead to legitimate sales. I think the effects are minor on both ends and make no statistically significant difference, but there you have it: DRM has a net-negative effect, and File-Sharing has a net-positive.
