reflective coating and pd lasers
does anyone know whether pd-lasers are effected by reflective coating?

reflective coating effects energy weapons that impact your hull. PD lasers dont fire at hulls so no they shouldnt interfer with each other.

to make myself clear:
does reflective coating provide protection from enemy pd-lasers?

PD weapons do fire at battle riders, which can use the coating, and I do seem to recall some drones could have it too, so the question is relevant. I always assumed that it does give extra protection, but I don't actually know.

i see. well i suppose it depends on the PD. but i would say yes it should protect them from PD lasers.

I'd have thought so too, as the laser PD is an energy weapon

But reflective coating doen't affect energy weapons generally, only laserfamiliy(lasers + beamers + pulsephaser).
and maybe pd-laser ?

Sorry I didn't see your reply before lol, apparently I wasn't subscribed to discussion -.-
I think I phrased the last post wrong, what I meant to say was that being technically a laser the PD should be affected by the reflective coating. It works against the other pulsed beams such as the UV laser, right?

The PD laser is really just a weaker, faster firing pulse weapon. I think it just defaults to a point defense setting, though if i remember right it can be switched from that manually. Not that it's really effective for much else lol. But that would make me think it's classed as a laser weapon just as much as any other, so should be stopped at least in part by reflective coating :)

I can confirm, that laser PD is indeed affected by reflective coating. It lets your BR live a little bit longer ;)
