Is this game abandoned?

No its not. But it is on a back burner while the developers get thier next game out that will hopefully pay for more updates.

Besides, it's not like it's a subscription based game, you can't expect updates to go on forever.
Also, November of last year is not *that* long ago, is it?

feels like it is though as there are some majorly annoying issues the devs have yet to address that have been an issue since ♥♥♥♥♥♥ day one of SotS 2
I get that its not subscriptions but you cant denign that the devs have not put as much effort into this as they could have in terms of bug finding and doing something about it...

After all, its not like their funding from Paradox (who demanded that the game be sent out half finished) has been cut and they are trying to create two new games in order to fund the continued support for this game.

Certanly looks like it is. Back then I couldn't play because the game crashed a lot, now I can't play because the game doesn't even start, and I actually received no useful assistance on the official tech support forum. I don't know if it is abandoned but it certainly still needs a lot of work.

Yeah, I agree that the title needs more work, I'm just saying I've moved on and won't be buying anything else from this developer. At this point I don't really see a reason to believe it will ever be relatively bug free.
Of course, they can go ahead and prove me wrong all they want. Please do.

Pass few patches were more of bug fixes rather than feature polishing & implementation. So in terms of major patch, then its been ages since we had one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the day this game will finally be in the intended "Release" state.

Well, I am probably dooming myself here, but I'm on turn 400 in a game without major issues. Even before, most of the issues I had related to huge turn end times ( on turn ~150) which seems to have been fixed since I started playing with four or fewer races.

What two new games? The only one I was aware of is Pits and that is already out and done IIRC.

It is when you consider that very same patch was just bug fixes mostly. Still too many stuff still need changing or fixing.

Ground Pounders. Basically a planetary invasion startegy game. And its still in the works.

yea this is the biggest problem with saying you will fix a game, but then turn around and only "relatively" fix said game.

It makes people mad and then they don't buy anymore games.
