I get this error right at the end, right at the end of winning the last battle of the crusader campaign. I beat this #$%* thing like 4 times now, including twice trying to run the program from the .exe as admin.

I read in the official website of the game that this game has problems with windows 7 64 bits and programmers couldnt solve it. It's a shame to buy a game like this because to me this game was the closer one to medieval 2 total war, my favourite strategy game. I got tired to get this error and I unistaled the game weeks ago.
ah yeah, that's me, windows 7 64 bit. its a damn shame, the maps are really beautiful, I'll probably keep it installed for awhile just for the scenery lol.

Got to be kidding me. So much for this awesome sale going on. At least 3 of the games I've purchased are unplayable for me. This one included. Getting tired of spending money of things I can't even enjoy.
Well, I did make it through the entire crusaders campaign, only having a problem on the last map, therefore unable to see the final scene. I'll probably still see how far I can get on the Saracen campaign, its worth playing a bit just as an alternative to total war.

So I just bought the game. I played through the first battle as crusaders. I got the runtime error twice. The first time, I played the game as installed. The second time, I set compatibility to xp sp3, disable aero and disable desktop comp. It failed as well.

So I went to uninstall programs in windows, and I had like 4 version of MSVC 2008 for x64 and x86 each. So I uninstalled all but the highest version which is 9.0.30729.6161 for me. So I have MSVC++ 2008 redistributable for x86 and x64 with that version.

After doing that, the game made it through the first mission. I can't say if this fixed it, or I got lucky. I have been looking at this for quite some time today, and right now, I do not feel like running through the first mission to see if it works again.

So maybe you want to try this and see if it works for you.

I'm in the same damn boat man. As soon as the last trigger happens (taking over the city and they counter attack with about 5 or so units), the damn goes to hell. I tried this about 3 times and I have yet to find a fix. This also happened on Thy Kingdom Come as well (last mission, last trigger >_>').
I had same problem and uninstalled. No any solution unfortunately.

Thank you very much Qoojo! I deleted all the extra MSVC files and it didn't crash after finishing that first battle. Fingers crossed that it stays fixed.

I found its easiest to find paradox launcher in add/remove programs and uninstall it. Prob isnt the game.. its the launcher for me.
I have posted this in other areas... the problem is not with the game. It's not with the engine, it's not with the design. It's that this is a 32-bit game in a 64-bit OS world. 32-bit games can only address the first 2GB of RAM, no matter how much you have. I have 32GB - and I got this error. 32-bit games will only address the first 2GB and if your OS or Video are taking that space - too bad.

There are several 4GB patches that allow 32-bit games to at least recognize the first 4GB... and that is the absolute limit for 32 bits.

You can google your favorite memory patch - but I have been using the NTCore one for years. It fixes this issue and you can play this game.

You have to patch the launcher.exe... and may have to patch it more than once if there are updates. Don't worry - it automatically makes a back up of the original.
