This should be open world!

It would be so much more fur if it was open world like an RPG and you could level up or something (even if levelling up only increases health and melee-damage or something like that). That would add some motivation to spend more hours ingame.

1.It will not happend the developers stop developing the game
2. The whole style of the game is meant to not be a normal RPG
3.There is a lot of good RPG games with combos that they are like Magicka,you can play in them

Ontopic though, NO...the whole reason to play is mastering the elements and learning how to most effectively use them. you want more gameplay? TAKE ON THE ARENAS! Those are possible in single player, if hard, and certainly test your ability. Also, do a playthrough with another wizard. A few of them play pretty radically different.
