Thanks, enjoy! :)

There will be no GOG release, they have rejected the game for distribution. :( (They said: "it appears to be too niche for our users".)
what?! that seems really strange. if anything it seems too niche for steam.
thanks anyway!

An obvious BS, they've got much, much more "niche" games in their catalogue. I can't imagine why they refused :(

Dear Developers, please, please release it for Android!
I still keep my iPhone 2G just for this game :steamhappy: believe it or not! I would be so happy to buy the HD Android version!:steambored:

An Android version is planned. :) (After the Mac and iPad versions.)

GOG has been refusing a number of games lately for...questionable...reasons. Sorry to hear you go hit by it too.

Will definitely pick this up on android when it's out, unfortunately my PC time is rare but this looks amazing and I wanna sink some time into it!

Wow... really shows you where GOG is at these days...

This game looks fantastic, really considering picking it up. Is there a wide variety of monsters to fight?
Elendil / Redshift  [developer] Feb 20, 2016 @ 8:48am
There are quite few monster kinds, yes. No one compained about lack of variety. :)

It's really shame GOG rejected this (they also apparently AntharioN for same reason). The Quest has "only" 152 votes on GOG community wishlist[www.gog.com] but still... Cosidering GOG's origins as Good Old Games and it's core user base being retro (or generally older) gamers, one would've tought retro style RPG's would fit GOG catalog perfectly. :steamsad:

I think they simply checked The Quest's popularity on Steam and because it was not among the best sellers they rejected it. They had to find a reason so they wrote us "it's too niche for our players" - which sounds like a joke of course from a site named "Good Old Games" but we can't do anything with that. So we had to move on.

Just to clarify, they are no longer Good Old Games. They rebranded themselves to just GOG dot com few years back (since they no longer only offer old games) but every second person still calls them Good Old Games. Recently they even introduced their own version of Early Access called "Games in Development".

Yep, I know they are not selling only old games nowadays. : ) Money is money. (By the way, changing the name AND rejecting games/developers which would fit to their original idea in mind looks even worse to me.)
As for "Games in Development": The Quest was already finished so we couldn't do anything with that. But it's OK. We are fine here and have absolutely no negative experience with Steam.

Who cares, GOG is practically irrelevant anyways.

I disagree. While they are not steam, they are a great company for gamers. No DRM is a huge + in my book

And they are the only ones who care about poorer CIS gamers.
The discounts which they provide for CIS are the main reason for me to buy there; Steam did it once too, but now requires us to pay almost the full price (except Russia, which enjoys the lowest prices in the world despite being the richest CIS country)
