Recycling old assets
I completed the tutorial and I may have missed this along the way but is there a way to recycle old assets like burner miners and so on? I've upgraded to the electric gear and would like to recover any salvage if I can.

Otherwise if I cannot, how do I delete old assets?

You can't recycle old items (without 3rd party mods.)

The only way to get rid of non-burnable items is to place them in a chest (like the wood chest) and destroy them.

To clarify: destroying the chest means to hover over it with the mouse and pressing C while standing next to it. This will shoot it with your currently equipped weapon.

The same way you can also get rid of the stone boulders scattered around the map.

There is a mod called reverse factory which allows you to recover most if not all the materials of the items you place into it, I believe. Keep in mind that anything that required fluids, you won't get the fluids back.

Great game! How do you trash or break down..
How do you trash or break down old stuff you dont use anymore?

Any tips guys? Kinda just started this morning......can't...stop...though...

Either you store it all in a chest (all the early game-stuff should fit into there) and leave it there or you put it in a chest and shoot at it (with "C").

Deconstructor?
Is there a recycled equipment into its components?
no, thats not needed
you can destroy items by putting them in a chest and destroying that chest (shoot at it with c or run it over with a vehicle)

That would be destroying the objects, I want to "recycle" them.

Also I want to make a giant machine that does nothing but builds part and takes them apart again....

may be possible to do with a mod. but it will have to duplicate every recipie to be used in reverse order down to component parts, and restricted to a specific object. it might be possible as recipies requiring oil are limited to assembler 2 or higher, but will be a heavy mod to create and maintain between new versions of the game.

I hope the devs add this on in a future patch, it would make for great scenarios that require using existing buildings to make others that are needed.

There is no way to turn items back into their components if that is what you are looking for.

Most objects that become obsolete tend to do so because they can be upgraded later. Otherwise, why would you want to recycle a lot of objects? There's typically no need.
