Is this game dead?

I am trying to find multiplayer games i just downloaded im only level 1 so i cant acces the advanced tier im on standard but all lobbys are absolutely dead. does anyone still play MP?

edit: I see where it says theres like 900 people online and 300 in standard playlist team deathmatch but it says theres no games available everytime i play it ive waited for like an hour in lobby and still no game

Do you own DLC maps?
I find TDM lobbies within seconds in the main game.
Sometimes i takes couple of minutes with DLCs activated to find lobbies (DLC 1, 2 and 4).

Refund while you can!
Every server has at least 1 wallhacker, you will find aimbotter in 1/10 matches, you will find tphere cheater in 1/20 matches AND you will find speedhacker every 1/50

The rest of the servers have 12 year old admin that's abusing his privilages and is using godmode

The chances of finding a regular lobby than a hacked, 18-player lobby is 1:5. And the normal lobbies are mostly europian servers with a bad ping.

Don't forget the 40% of hackusators who are usually new to MW3 blaming veteran players with thousand of hrs on record of cheating while they only corner camp with fmg akimbo but not aware that any weapon shot without silencer gets them marked on the mini map. Same with footsteps that makes loud noises when they run around like wild/blind chicken.

MW3 has only unranked server that needs to be activated in the main menu game options. Any ranked (regular) lobby uses P2P system which means there are no european servers. You play with any other player in the world and one of them is picked as host. Could be a US, Korean, Japan, Dutch, France, German, RUS, Belgium or US host. You can not choose the host (legit way).

Bad (high) ping can be caused by:
- the host (player) has only slow internet and/or NAT TYPE strict = all players have high pings (all players have only 1-2 bars shows that it's caused by the host)
- one or more players (bc of slow internet and/or NAT TYPE strict ) have a high ping but the rest has a good ping means the game engine causes lags for anyone else in that lobby. The Dev's of MW3 coded it that way so the game engine will balance hardware and connection differences. It's called LAG Compensation and can be found in any newer CoD titles with P2P system (all since MW2 but BO2)!

Also the distance to the host does not necessarily end up in high pings. I played with people from US, Canada and Australia (where a european player expects a high ping) when one of them had a high ping and the other one from the same country had a good ping.

Cheat-Downloader are not new to FPS games and surely not in CoD titles.
I still play and enjoy the game since I decided to play the DLC maps 1, 2 and 4 with almost no cheats at all for a simple reason. Most cheats get banned, open up a new/free steam account and rebuy MW3 for cheap money and continue to cheat. That's covers 95% of all cheats because most of them have new steam accounts and/or fresh new bans on record - so they don't care anymore about their steam profile and want to cheat in another cheap online FPS game.

DLC maps are not cheap which means that caught cheats will pay couple bucks for the main game to keep on cheating but they won't pay for the DLC maps over and over again. Too expensive which is good for all clean players since we only pay once for it


If you want to avoid cheat-downloaders (these people are NO hackers!):
Stop playing MW3 and find another online FPS with no cheats at all (good luck), buy the DLC maps if you enjoy the game or quit playing online MP games.

I've literally waiting in a TDM lobby while 300+ people were online playing standard TDM and havent gotten in a single game.

Plus, I click "Team Deathmatch" and I get connected to domination, sometimes demolishion or dropzone. Just refund it, it was a mistake buying it now. I LOVED the game, even though I wasn't THAT good in it, I enjoyed it. But now...it's filled with hackers.

I can't refund it, I bought it a long long time ago, i just never played it until now. I just wish i can find people to play with. if anyone wants to play online just add me!! im always looking for friends doesnt have to be MW 3, we can play a bunch of games.

18-player lobbies are good though. 6vs6 on the big maps of any COD game is too slow paced. 9v9 on the big maps of a COD game however are perfect. Not too much mayhem like the 32v32 servers of COD4 but not too slow like say, 3v3, or 6v6 on most maps
