A second link with www in it, just in case some can't get to the first link.
As some pc's require the www for websites. And someone told me the link didn't work above.

Keep this at the top please.

Bump!

Make sure to update your flash player as well, always keep your programs up to date.
Update both the activex and the plugin versions of the latest flash player, uncheck the optional download and installations such as google chrome with it and other installers, then click the installation or download button. Always be careful and be sure to check for installation or download options, and uncheck them as you install or download a program.

Java has been updated to version 8, some have to manually download it, others find it an option that shows up in avast antivirus under software updater, and on another computer, avast might not show it, and so it will need to be manually downloaded for some. If you are on 64 bit versions of windows, use both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of java. Those with just 32 bit, download the 32 bit versions of java. Java 8 can be found under the "other downloads", be looking to the left, and click on offline installer, it's there somewhere on left of the page, under a tab, on the java.com website.
When you download and install java 8, both 64 bit and 32 bit versions on windows 64 bit, or if you just have 32 bit, and you install just 32 bit java, then be sure after you install java 8, to uninstall java 7 and any version before that, uninstall all older versions, always be sure to check, and this can be done by going to your windows control panel, in windows 7, click on programs, or in windows xp, click add/remove programs, to find the program to uninstall it.
Be careful what you uninstall. But you need to uninstall old versions of java, as they recommend using only the latest java at all times.

Visual c++ redist 2014 files will come with the visual studio 2014 installation try before you buy, early releases of it though.

For AMD radeon video card users.
Try the auto detect first in this link.
Don't forget to download the chipset drivers latest version for your motherboard located on the right.
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx

AMD radeon video card users should download this after downloading the stuff above.
I recommend it if your video card can use it.
http://raptr.com/amd

Those with Nvidia geforce video cards can download a program similar to it, from the link in my guide.
The program for nvidia geforce video cards - called the geforce experience program.

Version 2.4.1 is up for download of the nvidia geforce experience program, I recommend it.

Visual c++ 2012 update 4 redist. is up for download in my guide, there seems to be an update for visual c++ 2012 once or twice a week, it might not be updated too much more but make sure to get all of them and the latest, sometimes when you think you have the latest, you don't with almost every program, and you should always have the latest.

nvidia geforce drivers -

For nvidia video card owners, download through your geforce experience program, or from nvidia.com, on the nvidia.com website - unselect the "remember me" when choosing a region, then set your country, go to find the drivers page and select your video card series, type and operating system, x32 or x64, then hit search, be sure not to download the beta versions, only official driver releases, such as the whql especially, which are the windows hardware quality labs tested versions.

If you don't have the geforce experience program yet, you can download it from nvidia.com as well, I highly recommend it for most nvidia geforce card owners, although it works best with geforce 600 series and up, geforce 500 series should still get some benefit out of it.

Note: -
Your geforce experience program can be located by selecting the arrow near your desktop clock, or if it already is there near the clock, on the lower right corner of the screen, and not under the hidden icons area, right click on it, and select the geforce experience program.

Select the tabs along the top of the geforce experience program to find more menus.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make sure vertical sync is disabled in the in-game options.
Find your nvidia control panel on your pc, by right clicking on the desktop or the icon near the clock, maybe hidden in the upward arrow near the clock, open the nvidia control panel, and set it to "let the 3d application decide". Make sure that vertical sync in your video options is set to off, and in some games... not just that but make sure it has it at 144 fps with your resolution.

Also in windows, if you have a monitor with a nice refresh rate, such as 144 Hz, set it in windows 7 by right clicking on the desktop, click personalize, select the resolution and monitor used, click advanced and set the monitor dvi settings to 144 Hz, so that your games can use it, that is if your monitor can handle that high of refresh rate, and then disable vertical sync in everything on your computer, and set the frame rates high in games.
Also the nvidia control panel can set resolution and the refresh rate of the monitor.

The refresh rate settings for higher frame rates, should work for many games.

Tell me in detail what you were doing before if it worked, and after as to what you might have installed or a crash, anything that might have happend.

Please first answer with how you have gone through all of the guide as the first thing, and then list your system specs by going to the top of steam and clicking on the help feature, as the guide explains most issues.

The guide is in the link under this thread's title.

But if you can't find a solution in my guide, just list your system specs or add me, it takes time to fix issues, as windows 8 and other types have a number of them, as well as other computer types, that's what the guide is for, to fix most issues, this saves everyone time.

Most people use video cards, not built in, don't expect everyone to understand right off the bat as to you telling them your game doesn't start up without providing anything as to why, such as your system specs would need to be shown, as it could be a hardware or software issue, not a game issue, this is why the guide is a good thing to use.

Also the guide is a good thing to use because if one solution was given in multiple threads, you would have spammed multiple threads and flooded the forum with pages after pages of questions and answers to one thing each, the guide saves alot of this trouble.

Although I really like to help, I can't be here every second, and I am sure there are thousands with issues for the game still waiting to be fixed, this is why I made the guide with multiple solutions, to have everything in one place, which makes it easy to find an answer when you need it, right on the spot all in one place, the best idea is just that, and if you have windows 8 or 8.1 and have other issues that the guide can't fix "once you have gone through the guide and tried everything", then list your actual issue in detail with your system spec and software used.
Commander,

I run windows 7, 32bit
AMD Phenom(tm) II x 4 965 Processor
4gig of ram
Currently running directx11
My graphics card is a Nvidia GeFroce GTX 570

Everytime I run this game about 20-40 seconds into it my PC crashes and a loud noise comes out of my headset (and it sounds like the fans run twice as fast) until I hit the reset button.

I mean I can run starcraft 2 and d3 at max settings and it works perfectly.
I've tried everything, 3 days of trying windowed mode turning off all ingame settings, compatability mode, the default setting for 3d is "let the application decide", run as administrator, I've upgraded all my drivers, C++, .Net framework, manually downloaded directX and extracted it to the proper folder.

I've tried everything that I have managed to find on the internet. (The game runs smoothly until it crashes my pc)

While I am upgrading my pc, those stats are very similar to mine except one thing, my video card is a Geforce GTX 670 from evga that was about $400 dollars.
And my ram is cheap, I'm upgrading that with a $450 dollar set of quad channel soon and then going for a 1 TB velociraptor harddrive for more space as I'm running out, and to have the fastest for my needs, then I will be upgrading other things later, the sound card to the latest from creative.com, monitor, speakers, and other things.

It could very well be your video card, who was the creator for the brand type, not the chipset.
Mine is from EVGA, as my video card is called an EVGA Geforce GTX 670 FTW Edition.

You can get many geforce 600 series cheap online these days. I would go no less than a 650, but then with computers, trying to save isn't the best idea in the long run, getting the best is the best idea.

I would do remote assistance with you for a while if you needed help and felt comfortable and up to doing that, if you have avast antivirus free edition at the least, or even team viewer "I haven't used in a few years but would have to reinstall" and I don't really want to right now but I will if you need the help on finding a solution through remote assistance.
Trust me, I'm very good at it, as I have done this with many all over the world for free in the past.
I would have to run all diagnostics, that includes driver issues, virus issues, and many other problems until I can find a solution, this is how I fix it and I do very very good at it.
If I can't find a problem, at least I would have tried and that counts.

how do i find out the brand type?

Did your video card come with a box when you got it?
Also have you tried every single thing in my guide?
This isn't the guide, just the thread that leads to it in a link.
Have you tried updating the motherboard drivers? That's listed in the guide as well.

Also I forgot to mention that early this year, I went from an AMD Phenom 2 x4 at 3.4 Ghz 965 Black Edition, to an amd Vishera FX 8350 8 core processor at 4.0 Ghz with 4.2 Ghz auto boost if needed, it lowers 4 cores to boost 4 cores.
I recommend buying that, as it is cheap and a good price compared to intel's thousand dollar processors, the best processor so far is that from AMD and it's a really good price, $200 dollars and well worth it, I don't need to overclock anything, also overclocking makes your system and games unstable and incompatible.

Try resetting the game's default resolutions, lower the resolution to 1680 x 1050 instead of something higher, and see if that fixes it, some people have issues with higher resolutions.

Check for duplicate video card drivers installed in the add remove programs, located in your control panel in windows, make sure no other is installed, my guide also covers the device manager in videos under links in the guide.

Have you tried validating the game files by right clicking on your game in the library of steam and then going to its properties?

Also try to delete the .ini file in your game's folder for default settings, and run validate the game files to redownload the default.

Have you also tried finding out if your pc allowed all visual c++ by setting them to run as an admin? And removed the blocking feature by right clicking on each installer and clicking properties to find when it says blocking.

If you would like to do remote assistance later, we can do that also to find a solution. You will have to be patient and trust me.

Yes, but that is because of his geforce 570 being an old brand, it could even have slower specs than other average geforce 570's, maybe not being a gtx, but it is slower than most 670 gtx series and his cpu is only a phenom 2 x4 965 black edition, which is what mine was back in 2012, in 2013 I upgraded to the vishera fx 8350 4.0 ghz 8 core processor, with 4.2 ghz auto boost, and has 16 megs cache ram, which will help with performance alot, but if your processor is slower and you have a geforce 570 gtx, and possibly an older motherboard, those could be the issues, but that 570 gtx is going to cause a few issues, as many had them in aliens: colonial marines, the geforce 500 series just causes issues and isn't good enough for today's growing games, as the 670's with only 2 megs video ram are becoming obsolete unless used with sli, and having an older motherboard will cause issues, as I would recommend using a 990 fx motherboard, nothing less, and you can get them cheap if you look for amotherboard that was made sometime last year, as amd hasn't made any new desktop processors that are air cooled, only water cooled, which I don't use because it's like trying to change batteries in a wireless mouse, and you would constantly have to pay for it each month, water cooled is about $20 dollars for a refill on the specific item and can get expensive from what I have seen.
Air cooled is less of an issue to deal with.

Try newegg.com for motherboards that can be cheap but still really good and up to date 990 fx for your amd processor, just be careful with pulling out the processor and placing back in, and always unplug the pc when installing as well as remove any static from yourself by touching other metal objects, and keep your hands clean as well, and well dry after washing, always make sure.

Also, I recommend the Vishera FX 8350 4.0 Ghz 8 core processor from AMD, you can buy it too on newegg.com, as it is cheap, much less than Intel processors, and you can buy the AMD Vishera FX 8350 4.0 Ghz 8 core processor at $200 dollars, you're not goint to want anything else for a while, AMD hasn't even released any other air cooled cpu's since at the end of 2012, and they only released the water cooled since then as of the time of this message.

Also, this game requires software cpu physx instead of gpu physx, which means his pc yes will get hot if it isn't good enough, because this game isn't updated by the devs anymore and if you have anything less than a geforce 670 gtx or 600 series, you will run into issues, my system with the phenom 2 x4 at 3.4 ghz ran fine on this game with 6 fans "not including the cpu heatsink and fan, gpu fan, or the power supply fan", in my pc all over with an EVGA Geforce GTX 670 FTW Edition, but that's only because of the video card, that the system doesn't overheat, at the time I only had 4 Gigs of DDR3 system ram that was cheap when I first built the pc, knowing I could upgrade later, but it ran smooth without overheat on just that ram, although now I have upgraded the pc and the ram for things I need, up to 32 Gigs and the ram is faster for each 4 sticks, at 8 GB's each stick.

You can find out the difference of every game you play, when it switches between cpu and gpu physx processing, by going to your nvidia control panel, at the top select the tab called "3d settings", you can also find this info in my guide, click on "show physx visual indicator".

It will show you if the game is using cpu or gpu physx, at the top left corner of the screen if I can remember, after your game starts, and to disable that option, just go back into the nvidia control panel at the top where you selected it, by clicking on 3d settings and then the option.

There are .ini files which can enable gpu physx, if the game has it implemented into the code, but this game does not sadly, I tried to enable it in several places of the .ini and it didn't work, even know it is the unreal engine, they took out physx for gpu support, who knows why, as it is better for it to run on the gpu for hardware acceleration than the cpu, and running it on the gpu for better framerates and less cpu usage would be the best option, that is one thing they messed up on with the game by not adding that, it could also have something to do with the 30 frames per second/fps lock on this game, which probably makes the game seem faster in action, than the smooth 60 fps.

thanks guys for the help is it my graphics card overheating?

What can I do to fix it. If it is to buy a new fan or graphics card can someone suggest something.

Check the newegg.com website as I mentioned. =P
I would suggest another graphics card, a geforce 600 series, especially a 670 gtx if you can, don't go cheap, go with what you can afford though, or save up another month, have the patience and it pays off, you will really like it.

As I mentioned, buy a motherboard 990 fx type, at a good price, you can find some last year brand 990 fx motherboards around $100 - $150, maybe cheaper, but get a good quality one, be sure to check the specs when you find one and the reviews, on the newegg.com site.

Buy a vishera 8350 8 core processor at 4 Ghz, which has an extremely good price, at $200 dollars, best amd home desktop processor in the world as of this message, for air cooled, you will be extremely happy, be sure to restart the pc once it starts up and installs the cpu drivers, restart right after.

For ram, AMD only supports 1600 mhz with 4 sticks of ram, even if it is 32 GB's, if you get 2 sticks at 16 Gigs, you can have 1866 mhz stable, or whatever your motherboard can support without overclocking the ram.

Buy a case around $70 - $80 dollars, such as the rosewill blackhawk, cheap and large case for expanding, comes with 6 fans, and buy a power supply around 800 watts, you will need at least 630 at the least if you plan to have a nice 670 gtx video card, any higher and you need well over that amount, or if you ever decided on multiple video cards, you need a power supply well over 1,300 watts to be safe.

Keep in mind, computers were also built to save power, and so it won't use what it doesn't need, and if it requires more performance, then it will use what it needs, and it might not even reach that high, but it is still good to be safe and have something higher.

With my pc, I get silky smooth framerates like butter, I would really recommend buying those things, even if it's for a single gpu and not sli.

Just make sure you have the fans for your pc, and that your room temp. isn't that high that would make each hardware in the pc hot, follow my guide to find some helpful gpu and cpu programs to find the temp heat for each hardware.

At the top of this thread, click on the picture called "fix" which should take you to the guide.

Remember that this isn't the guide, just a thread that leads to it.
Have you tried everything in the guide? The link is under the thread's title, in the info.

Also, do you have a mod installed? Delete all mod content, try the folder where the game's coalesced file is located, the .ini file that is encrypted, and delete it, you can also try deleting the game's .exe file, but make sure you have a backup of the game's .exe file first, just in case it doesn't redownload it, then after you delete those, validate the game to download the default of those 2 files again.

If by chance it was a virus issue, a virus can easily corrupt your game files. Not that it is one though, unless you are not properly shutting down your pc, or you have junk registry all over the place, that can be an issue, and can cause blue screens, and that's something I don't get anymore, not for years.

Has your firewall status changed at all from anything you were doing on the pc? Check to make sure that your game is going through the firewall, and that it is enabled.
Check my guide, make sure all the downloads in there are installed.
And that your physx isn't giving you troubles. Also you shouldn't be having trouble with the latest version of physx, or your windows/pc has something wrong with it.
Make sure everything is up to date along side it, such as the video card drivers from nvidia.com and if you have a radeon, make sure those are up to date, always check once or twice a month.
And never set anything to auto download, always have all programs on your computer.. notify you.
Remember that restore points in windows, can be handy for backups, but they can also carry viruses. A virus might either be backed up into a restore point, or it will place itself in the system restore folder, in a clean restore point. And sometimes removing the restore point, can place the virus back in it. Follow the guide to removing viruses.
