No DRM (but you will have to create an account and enter a key once you're ingame).
The retail copy won't give you a Steam key.

Would the game be broken if the ability to create an account ever goes away? If they shut off their servers and such...

Today still can play online in LAN or with a virtual LAN software... 2018. Tunngle have a active blur comunity. I love this game.
