Honestly...I really can't understand how some really bad game like Duke-Nukem Forever can have 70, while old-school game, packed with alot of fun and variety of possibilities and so catching like Krater have only 52... I just don't get it...

To be fair, this game had it's fair share of problems when it first released. Also, while I enjoy the game quite a bit, I think it lacks interesting loot and the character progression is a little strange.

The reviews are based on the version that first shipped, which was very buggy and unfinished. Krater has since improved, but it's too late now to make a good first impression.

for me it is a good first impression....maybe wouldnt be bad making second reviews...like games after one year...how they improved :)

I think alot of that was due to some release issues i make a habit of going and checking the player reviews and most of them were quite favorable since the game had some issues dealt with.. personally i think its a damn good looking game and the characters are original and fun.. i like the boot camp etc. the progression is different and i like different.. the same ole same ole cookie cutter crap gets old in 30 years of gaming...they didnt complicate the crap out of it and made it simple and easy to enjoy imo but many games take a nose dive if the release is rough and recovering is difficult because alot of people have moved on..personally this is the best Indie title i have played i do believe.. almost hard to believe a small team made this. I made sure to go back and add a meta review saying so and hope everyone else does too.

eeeexactlyyy....problem is that many people looks only for the first impression and good game like this just dives into dust...Not sure if this is the best indie I have played, but in its category definitely yes. almost everything is kinda....new. I don't say the classic RPG and such are bad, but this whole new game concept is really refreshing...can't stop playing the game :)

Metacritic is based off of the first to hit reviews, and they have horrible policies of never updating reviews in case something in the product has changed so they only accept the first review from an outlet for a game, meaning any and all games that get these alpha and beta releases get reviewed while still being an incomplete game, and is shown on metacritic.

Then again, if your relying on metacritic, what the hell is wrong with you?

I'd give a 70-75 in its current state. Devs should have reviewers give it another go, maybe they'll get a better score right now.

I give it a 45 in its current state. For me its almost impossible to play longer than 20 minutes cause the game is flooded with Bugs. Either I get horrible clipping bugs (cant see anymore) or i cant pickup Items, then a quest cant be retrieved. - The idea is nice and its quite fun but although its often unplayable.

None of those issues should occuring with the current, up to date, windows or mac builds. (Unless you're talking about the nvidia texture corruption issue, which is presently being worked on.)

As those issues are usually due to missing or corrupt files.
