On refunds - usually to get a refund through steam you need to have actually tried to get the game working, or have brought it without checking the store page vis compatibility issues.
Since Mavericks has been installed, it crashes on start-up.
Sometimes it takes you to the main screen of the game and just hags. No buttons are clickable. I have had to re-boot my machine as it slams the memory and no other applications or shortcuts work.
Will there be a fix for this?
You could try and find the log file Krater creates and see which error it writes (though might not be any if it insta crashes). My guess is that between the Mac OS versions something might have changed in the way memory is allocated and that causes the crashes (but this is purely speculation, since I don't have a mac to test it on). I wish I could do more to help....
There is a pretty comprehensive guide to fixing most issues with krater and which hardware/software configurations lead to presently non-resolved and game breaking problems. If you can't be bothered with using it, there isn't much we can do for you.
Second issues - for some damnable reason the game engine doesn't recognised trackpads in certain Mac OSX versions and often if the trackpad doesn't work nor with mice that are plugged in and using their own drivers.
Then there's Mac specific crashes stemming from updates to OSX.
Unfortunately I have no idea when they'll have the manpower to deal with these as presently the team is still tied up in War of the Vikings + what ever other contract work they have in the pipeline for Paradox.
You've been offered help to get krater working multiple times now, and yet you act like a spoiled two year old, where as must other people use their brains and after ranting will knuckle down and try work this sort of stuff out as best as possible.
So yeah, filling you under id10t and any requests for help will be ignored in the future.
Thus if you want a game that works out of the box, you need to stick to consoles or smart phones as the shear level of diversity in hardware, driver, OS and software configuration/version makes it difficult for all but the biggest development houses to deal with every possible issue, though not always (i.e. ID tech 5 vis AMD graphics). Combine it with install issues (corrupt downloads, hard drive issues, registry bugs) and PC gaming can be occasionally very frustrating if you don't know how to do basic troubleshooting.
Stupidest thing I have ever heard. Let me guess, You didnt play any video games before the year 2000 did ya. Whats worse is you seem to accept that as reality, and 'O.K."....
Regardless you are completely wrong. Many games for the PC work right out of the box.
Why are you even posting this anyway? This thread is like a month old... and I wanted a refund because I think the game is utter garbage, not help making it work.
Seriously, can someone lock this thread please, instead of letting every simple minded person who reads it bump it back to the top.
