The mechanics and the scoring is what will keep you playing, because it is elegant and insanely hard at the same time. Basically each stage has debris you need to destroy to open the portal to the next level, and as you destroy the debris aliens spawn which you need to kill. The faster you destroy debris, the more points you get because of the multiplier score globes and the more aliens you spawn at the same time. Therefore when you just play carefully to get through the game you`ll breeze through it but if you play aggressively to get points you get flooded by aliens.
To get the highest scores possible you must therefore bump the debris together in a cluster before you start detroying it, so you can try to get all of it destroyed with multipliers. Battling your own high score by taking greater and greater risks is the point of the game, and since you get a huge bonus at the end for each life you have left, you need to try and do it without dying, which is unbelivably hard on the later stages when you push hard for points.
Get it immediately!
I couldn't enjoy it so I idled in it for cards.
get that guys 66% off coupon he is giving out for free in the forum. for a dollar its freaking great as a quick thrill. not even a beer is that cheap.
I played through enough to beat the campaign, and a little in survival, but...
YEAH, this games suffers from the issue of ALL top down shooters:
WAY TOO MUCH ON THE SCREEN! Almost EVERY death I had I ended up saying "Where did that come from?!", because either the enemies would have a burst of speed, arrive from the edge of the screen, or BLENDED INTO THE BACKGROUND.
Also, my eyes hurt it's so bright, and my arms hurt because the aiming is so finicky and the hitboxing for dying is ridiculous at times.
