P.S. to let you guys know i tried the demo version on split screen(xbox 360 version) and it was fine. also i will say the geforce 620 can run the game with great graphics it is just the splitscreen that causes the issue. pc version needed some optimization or at least a quick heads up the splitscreen needed the console command put in before you play
Xbox works differently. It has everything simplified a lot even in single-player and even more in split screen. Just compare screenshots. ;)
So... Phenom II X6 and HD6850 is not enough to get stable 30 fps in split screen on lowest setting? That's one heluva optimization! PC gaming at it's best.
Yeap, I tried to set every possible option in custom configuration to it's lowest, lowered resolution to 720p. Still at level 'Under iron cloud' game perfoms around 15-20 fps. While being totally unplayable not only because low fps but because blurry visuals too.
Actually SS3 on lowest settings looks even worse than xbox 360 version. I'd prefer working game with crappy visuals to unplayable game with crappy visuals. And it just don't work in split screen no matter what. Maybe SS3 just don't like my hardware config, maybe something is wrong with AMD HD6850 cards, I don't know. But I still think that any PC which meet system requirements mentioned on store page should be all good to play any mode on lowest. Tried different AMD Catalyst versions, reinstalled windows. Still no luck. The funny thing that my work PC perform a lot worse in singleplayer but almost the same in splitscreen. And it is dual core intel with some old crappy geforce 9600gt.
Singleplayer works like a charm. Who needs singleplayer anyway? Boring. I have friends, Serious Sam is for serious friends.
gfxResetRenderingDevice()
If that doesn't help, please post the Sam3.log file from one such session, so we can examine it. Thanks!
Getting 15-20 fps no matter ultra or lowest gfx/cpu options are set to. That slow.
Here you go. I hope you'll find something useful to find out what's wrong on my side:

upd: Tried OpenGL renderer, and it works slightly better.
I have a Phenom 955BE@3,7 GHZ (4 cores), 8GB Ram, HD 7870
I've bought the graphic card only for Serious Sam as we want to play the game in 4 PLAYER SPLITSCREEN mode. As the survival maps run with 18-50 frames (depending on the maps), the campaign mode runs really slow. Frames are between 17-25 frames, even on low settings @1080p. There is almost no difference between low and high settings, the performance is the same. Any advices how to improve the performance? Is the CPU the bottleneck?
Thank you
Strange: GPU was only stressed to 50% according to GPU-Z on all settings.
Thank you for your comment. Hopefully this helps others.
Min FPS were always on 35 and max 120-160 (without VSync). And no Setting in Performance Options could Change the Min FPS
I'll try it with the Dynamic Lightning off. But the game ran better half year before. Can't explain it.
Have the 7950 AMD Boost and it's max on 40-50% load the whole time. Something is wrong with the drivers or the last updates :(
