Haha, oh and here I was so eager pre-order the game. Such a shame. It looks like I can just use that money to buy a giant bag of gumballs, in result giving myself health problems for over-dosing in sugar.

Then you're a fool, an APRIL FOOL! X3

I think you didn't detect the sarcasm in my post.

I just saw a blog post about Serious Wednesday update and the Serious Sam Fusion 2017 update.

Does this mean that all SS games will be updated to use the latest Serious Engine version?

Yes, with all the bells and whistles as listed in the bulletpoints there.

That's very awesome. Also, I'm glad that SS4 is still worked on.

We will support Vulkan. But we probably won't be removing support for other APIs soon.
And yet you did remove directx 9 a year later, I'm sooo proud to support you guys and your games! And yes, I had to necro that quote, because as of the latest news about SS VR and vulkan, I'm happy as heck to have all of your games now. More VR, more flat+vr experiences in multiplayer!

It turns out that on Windows 10, DX9 is just creating compatibility problems. It's better not to have it.

I do love it how Microsoft often shows it's incompatible with itself.

So much Vulkan and Serious Sam goodness, thank you sooo much from all of us here on The World. :3

Thread blew up quie nicely, just like All The Things in SS do!

I hope they at least allow Windows 7 users and Linux users to play it.. They will probably be using Vulkan, so it shouldn't need to be "Windows 10 only" BS...

I suppose they're going to use DirectX 11 or Vulkan only. I don't think they'll do such a thing as 'exclusive content' because SS: TFE and TSE (originals) are part of the update.
I still hope they go back to the old-school level design and concept. The whole gritty modern warfare style and lack of enough vertical gameplay really dulled SS3 in my opinion.

Probably, we don't know. It could be way more of a challange than TSE or as close as TFE. I guess that they'll try something like Shadow Warrior 2 but without the 'RPG' elements.

Its not Win10 only. Talos Principle has Vulkan support on Linux.
All SS games will be available on windows, macos and linux.

Fusion supports DirectX11, OpenGL, and Vulkan. So that works just fine on Windows 7.
Fusion works on Windows, Linux/SteamOS and OSX. Fusion is a single app that contains TFE, TSE and SS3, including LotB and JotN, all those are 5 "DLCs". There's also VR versions for each.
You cannot buy Fusion or its parts on the store - if you own any of the original games (SSHD:TFE, SSHD:TSE, LotB, SS3, JotN), in flat or VR, you get the respective counterpart in Fusion.

So this will support any combination of game and OS. You can play Serious Sam HD: TFE on Linux using Fusion. Just buy the TFE HD and it will appear as Fusion 2017 in your library, playable on Linux and OSX.

When it will be available on Steam?
