That's a silly question you ask here, OP. I understand that you might be new to FPS genre in general and you never played any Serious Sam game, but if you never even heard some basics about this franchise actually or at least tried to Google it, then it's something utterly odd about you, lol. If anything - Serious Sam is a 'daddy' of Painkiller series actually, so it's PK that is similar to SS, and yes, they are pretty similar, though SS games and SS3 in particular is a much more traditional and consistent FPS than PK with bigger hordes of enemies and other tasks.
